Meet the Act

Emily Wegert is an aerial performer and coach from southern Colorado and the co-founder of the aerial group, Aerial Aura. She holds a BA in political science and enjoys thick Turkish coffee and waking up in countries she has never before visited with her husband and co-founder, Chris Wegert.
Beginning with aerial straps shortly after college graduation, then moving on to silks, hoop, and trapeze, Emily discovered and cultivated her passion for performing high above the ground. She has trained in Montreal and performs regionally throughout the year, developing ​solo and duo routines on sil ... ks, hoop, trapeze, and straps.
Emily is an instructor at The Dragonfly Aerial Company in Colorado Springs, and teaches workshops internationally as well.
Chris Wegert is the co-founder of Aerial Aura, and has been working alongside Emily as her trapeze base and partner since 2014. Both he and Emily have trained together under world-class coaches in Montreal, Canada, the self-billed “circus capital of the world.” When not in the air, Chris works as an Account Executive for Microsoft, and manages his fledgling collection of real estate along Colorado’s Front Range.
After first meeting Chris several years ago, Emily noticed he seemed well-built and begged him to play trapeze with her. Their aerial partnership soon took flight, followed shortly thereafter by a more romantic one. Aside from throwing Emily around, Chris enjoys being in the mountains, scuba diving, skiing, and collecting passport stamps from around the world (he recently acquired his 50th!). Read More
