Georgina Cassels is a contemporary circus artist specialised in aerial arts. Currently based in Budapest, Hungary and working as a freelance aerial performer, Georgina graduated with a Foundation Degree in Circus Arts from the National Centre For Circus Arts, London in 2015 where she concentrated on aerial discipline static cloud under instruction of Katharine Arnold and Rita van Opzeeland. Georgina then continued her training and completed the Professional Programme at Gravity Circus Centre in 2017 where she focused on aerial rope taught by Fyn Neb to achieve a more dynamic and fluid quality
... of movement .
Georgina began aerial dance at the age of thirteen learning rope, trapeze and tissu with Zu Aerial Dance and Hightop Circus in Lewes and Brighton. Georgina was educated with a Waldorf curriculum from the age of four to her graduation at eighteen where creative articulation was encouraged by all means of learning. Since her completion of the Professional Programme at Gravity, Georgina has taught a range of aerial disciplines at a number of studios across London such as GravityCircus Centre, Aircraft Circus, Aerial Gymnastics London and Flying Fantastic. In 2017 she spent three months in the Occupied Territories of Palestine, West Bank, working with the Palestinian Circus School as the aerial instructor teaching tissu, rope and physical theatre. At present she continues to use the aerial disciplines as a way of artistic expression and development, creating a physical language through movement in the air.
