Meet the Act

Hello! My name is Bella Exum. I am a dancer, actor, singer, and songwriter from Elon North Carolina. I began dancing at the age of two and trained in a variety of technique based styles for 15 years. Dance became my main passion and I spent my summers at dance intensives including Carolina Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and the Commercial Dance Intensive directed by Casey Noblett. In 2018 I left home to continue training in pursuit of a professional dance career at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a high school contemporary dance major. At UNCSA I trained in modern tech ... niques such as Cunningham, Limon, Alexander, and Counter Technique. Although Dance will always be my first love, I attended a program called The Performing Arts Project in 2019 and reignited my passion for musical theater. I left the 5 week program very inspired to start a new chapter of life. I began teaching myself to play the guitar, taking voice and acting lessons and then after graduating from UNCSA in 2020, I committed to The Institute of the Arts Barcelona in Sitges, Spain. I packed up and left home once again to study all the way across the Atlantic Ocean. I am currently studying to receive a BA in Musical Theater while living in the beautiful Catalonia, Spain. I have found a new home here and hope to continue working in Europe during my summers and after graduation. I am passionate about nature, culture, food, art, and fashion. I am a good leader and have worked as Dance Captain for multiple performance opportunities at my university including our most recent production of "And the World Goes ‘Round", a Kander and Ebb Musical.
