How to Get Christmas Bookings – For Entertainers

What’s the busiest and best time of year for Entertainers? That’s right, Christmas and New Year!

In November and December every year we see a big spike in bookers visiting our website looking for entertainers like you – sensational singers, high-energy bands, awe-inspiring magicians and side-splitting comedians – every sort of entertainment to hire for their Christmas parties and events.

So when the Christmas booking bonanza begins, how do you make sure your profile is the one that catches their eye, and what can you do to bag those bookings?

Here’s our quick and easy 3 step guide to get more Christmas bookings

1) Polish-up that Profile and Add Some Christmas Sparkle

Christmas booking are all about bringing that extra sparkle to someone’s event – whether it’s an office party or a Christmas wedding, so you need to make sure your act looks the part, and here’s how…

Update your bio and act description with details about how your act can enhance a Christmas or New Year’s Eve occasion.

Do you sing wonderful Bing Crosby or Michael Buble Christmas classics, or are you a dancer or aerialist with a gorgeous sparkly or snow-themed costume? Perhaps you’re a magician who can make a Christmas Elf appear or a Comedian with a bundle of seasonal jokes. Whatever you can add to those Christmas events, make sure you shout about it!

Add photos of you with a Festive theme….

Photos of you performing at Christmas events are ideal, but if you don’t have anything appropriate then there are a million photo editing apps out there, so get creative and add some glitter and magic to those headshots. You can also use our photo editing service to request some clever retouching – anything from giving your photos a Christmas background, to creating a gif with falling snow flakes.  If you have a video for your show reel of you at a Christmas or New Year’s event then you’ve hit the jackpot, so make sure you add it to your profile for the next couple of months.

Improve your profile quality score & add virtual services

Once you’ve updated your profile then the next step is to log-in & work though each step to improve your profile quality score so you appear at the top of the search results!

And of course, if you can offer virtual performance, make sure you add this to your profile too, to catch all those Christmas Zoom party bookings.

2) Check our Jobs & Gigs Page Every Day

New gigs are being added every day from both public and professional bookers, so make sure you’re at the front of the queue and the first to apply. Just head to our jobs page and search for gigs in your area.

To make it even easier, all our active members also receive regular job email updates, so keep an eye on these too!

3) Get organised

Set aside time every day to check and respond to enquiries

Check that inbox and make sure you respond quickly and in a professional manner. Your first reply to them is likely to make or break the deal so read their request carefully and think about what they’re looking for. What can you add to their party or event that sets you apart from any other act? Do you have more photos or testimonials you can send them?

And finally, set up a bookings calendar

Google calendars is perfect for this. This is particularly important if you are a group of entertainers or a band and all of you are responding to booking requests. It will help you to see your availability at a glance.

That should be everything you need to know to make this season busy and bookings-filled…

Good luck and we can’t wait to see all those testimonials rolling in in the New Year with glowing reviews of your amazing and show-stopping seasonal entertainment.
