Q&A With Chris Cox | Mind Reader | London – England

Chris Cox Mind Reader London

To assist you in booking Chris Cox – Mind Reader – London for your upcoming event, we recently had a Q&A session with him!

Q: How long have you been in the entertainment industry?

A: So here’s the crazy thing, I performed professionally for the first time at the age of 10 at the Bristol Hippodrome. I’ve been into magic for as long as I can remember and after studying psychology at school I realised I could mix it with magic to make people think I can read minds. I used the rest of my student loan to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and haven’t looked back since. I’ve been a professional funny mind reader-type bloke for over ten years now. During that time I’ve created five solo Edinburgh Fringe shows all of which toured the UK. I’ve had a TV series and done two West End runs, headlining the huge magic show Impossible which has gone on to tour the world. Amazingly, I still find time to perform at corporate events, private parties, award ceremonies and the like.

Q: What’s your most favourite venue?

A: There have been a few. Performing at Shakespeare’s Globe was pretty special. To do magic in that most magical of venues was incredible. Touring New Zealand and Singapore was a lot of fun. The Noel Coward Theatre in the West End, where I performed for two years in Impossible, will always hold a special place in my heart. Recently I read minds as part of the inaugural season at Dubai Opera, which was a stunning venue with wonderful crowds. Of course, I also enjoy doing more intimate performances in swanky hotel conference rooms for lucky audiences who book me for private events.

Q: Performing your act, what’s your biggest achievement so far?

A: I’ve won a heap of awards at the Edinburgh Fringe and been lucky enough to receive a plethora of five star reviews. My all-time favourite was a review in Time Out, which said, ‘Chris Cox does tricks to make Jesus proud.’ It always makes me chuckle. Having my own series on BBC Three was also a big achievement.

Q: Is there audience interaction in your act?

A: Of course, plenty of it. I can’t read minds without having my audiences’ minds to read. So there are effects that everyone takes part in while watching. Members of the audience also come and join me for some fun on stage. Those bits are always a delight at private events and corporate parties as you get to see your colleagues having their minds read!

Q: What’s the biggest crowd you’ve performed to so far?

A: I was seen by over 250,000 people around the world while performing in Impossible, so that’s pretty cool. So far, the biggest crowd in one room has been 5000 (plus a few million watching at home) when I was on tour in New Zealand.

Q: Do you have any video links on your Profile for a booker to view your act?

A: Of course you can find it all on my Entertainers Worldwide profile.

Q: Can you tailor your act to the booker’s requirements?

A: Yes, the joy of my act is that I can create bespoke effects for the message you want to get across.

Q: What sets your act apart from your competition?

A: I’m funnier, wear glasses and have toured the world reading minds. I’m also one of the cheaper better performers!

Q: Are there any other services you provide, such as MC’ing?

A: Yep, I host and present events all whilst reading minds…
