To assist you in booking London Based Wedding Band The Hound Dogs for your upcoming event, we recently had a Q&A session with them!

Q. What are the most common events that you perform at?
A. The majority of events we’re booked for are weddings and birthday parties, though we also play corporate and charity events across the country.

Q. How long have you been in the entertainment industry?
A. I’ve been a singer all my life! The Hound Dogs have been playing for nearly ten years now and we’re all full time professional musicians who love what we do.

Q. On average, how much do you cost to hire? A. It really does depend on the event and the set-up required – it’s best to get in touch to get a quote the same day. We’re often told we’re very good value for money!

Q. Is there audience interaction in your act? A. Again, this depends on the event but I do love interacting with the audience, getting them to clap or sing along and sometimes even joining them on the dancefloor during the guitar solos!

Q. What is one of the highlights of your show? A. It’s a cliché, but it’s almost always the last gig we’ve played when we’ve just come off stage and have ‘the buzz’ you get from a great gig, knowing the audience have had a great night and will be talking about your performance for a long time after.

Q. Whereabouts have you played in the country/world?
A. We’ve performed all over the UK and the world – from Inverness to the south of France.

Q. Describe your act in 5 words. A. Professional, experienced, energetic, versatile, friendly.

Q. Performing your act, what’s your biggest achievement so far? A. I think getting to where we are now is our biggest achievement – having such a tight knit group of musicians who work and play together so well and have such a huge repertoire.

Q. What’s the biggest crowd you’ve played to so far?
A. We’ve played festivals to thousands of people – it’s so satisfying seeing such a huge crowd getting so into what you do with their singing and dancing.

Q. What questions would you like to ask your booker? A. It’s always useful to know the kind of music they want so we can tailor our set to what they really want to hear. Timings and location are also handy!

Q. Is you act child-friendly? A. Absolutely – there are often children at events we play and they love it as much as the adults.

Q. Do you have any video links on your profile for a booker to view your act? A.Yes, lots of videos of us from our duo to full five piece band on our website.

Q. Can you tailor your act to the booker’s requirements?
A. Absolutely! This includes what we wear, the songs we play, everything. We’re flexible in almost every respect, just ask!

Q. Do you require any special arrangements in order to perform? A. No, just a couple of power sockets. We’ve our own professional PA system, lighting rig, we can DJ for you if required and are completely self-contained.

Q. Do you have any online reviews a booker can read? A. We’ve a long list of happy clients, please read the reviews on our website.

Q. What is the average duration of your act?
A. We usually play for two full hours, usually a first set of 45 minutes and a second of 1 hour and 15 minutes which works really well. We also offer an afternoon acoustic set upon request, which is really popular for entertaining guests while they relax before the wedding breakfast.

Q. Are there any cancellation fees? A. We take a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure the booking. We’ve never cancelled a gig ourselves all the time we’ve been together.

Q. What sets your act apart from your competition? A. The most important thing – the music. We’re totally dedicated to playing the songs ‘to the record’, that is to say as close to the original which you know and love as possible. A lot of music has special memories for the people we play it to, and the closer we can be to the real thing the better the experience it is for them.

Q. Do you have an idea age-range? A. Yes, from 0 to 120!

Q. Are you insured for Public Liability?
A. Yes, fully insured. All our gear is also PAT tested.

Q. If you were to cancel on the day due to an emergency, do you provide a back-up?
A. This is something which we’ve never even come close to doing – but we work with so many other musicians and bands that if this ever did happen, we could sort things out very quickly indeed.

Q. Are there any other services you provide, such as Mc’ing?
A. While I’m not singing with The Hound Dogs I’m also a professional DJ, so provide that service as well and can DJ almost any style required. As mentioned previously we also provide an acoustic afternoon service but if there’s anything else you had in mind you only have to ask.

Q. Do you require a meal?
A. Yes please, though we don’t need anything fancy! A hot meal of some kind is preferred with one vegetarian. Soft drinks are always welcome too.

Q. How far in advance would you advise that the booker book you?
A. The sooner the better as we’re very busy, but it’s always worth getting in touch in case we’ve had a cancellation or a rare free space.

Q. Would there be any fees that the booker is not accounting for?
A. Everything is included in the price we give so there are no added on or extra fees.

Q. What kind of outfit will you wear?
A. We usually wear smart black trousers and shoes, white shirts and red ties. We’re completely flexible in this respect though and can be more casual if required or wear a suitable colour scheme.

Q. Do you use flashing lights in your act?
A. Our lighting rig does flash, but not strobe.

Q. Do you require help to set up your equipment/set-up?
A. Not at all, we do all the work – it’s all good exercise and warm-up before the gig.

Q. Do you have a back-up plan if there is a malfunction with the equipment?
A. Yes, we’ve got a back-up option for every piece of gear. If something goes wrong, the audience will probably never know!

Q. Would you say you have a good rapport with your audience?
A. Absolutely, our audiences love what we do and aren’t afraid of telling us and getting involved.

Q. Does your pricing change during popular seasons?
A. No, there’s no price surging.
