To fire up your imagination and make good use of all that Summer energy we\u2019ve come up with a two week challenge just for all you wonderful singers, dancers, musicians, bands, acrobats, magicians, kids\u2019 entertainers and comedians.<\/p>\n

Change #1: Review Your Publicity<\/h3>\n

As an entertainer you should be constantly reviewing and updating your publicity \u2013 getting better photos, creating jaw-dropping videos and working on and refining your act description. We have some really good advice on getting all of these pitch perfect, just check out these three easy guides on Photography<\/a>, Video<\/a> and Writing Your Bio<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Change #2: Check Out The Competition<\/h3>\n

Every good business (and that\u2019s what you are) takes time to check out the competition in their area. Take a look at what similar acts are doing, what they are offering and how they market themselves. What are they doing that might work for you? What can you do differently that will make you the act to hire?<\/p>\n

Change #3: Market Research<\/h3>\n

In other words, ask your ideal audience what they love and what would make them hire you. A good way to do this is to approach existing clients\/bookers and ask for their honest opinion. And if you have a facebook page then just create a poll asking what people most want to see from your act type.<\/p>\n

What new skill can you learn that will give your act that little bit more sparkle and edge over the competition? If you\u2019re a dancer it might be a new move, or for singers it might be a new style of song to add to your repertoire. If you\u2019re a magician then perhaps learn new tricks that will work well for a different audience, like kids or corporate parties\u2026<\/p>\n

Change #7: Decide Where You Want To Be in 3 Years<\/h3>\n

This is like making a 5 year plan, but in a more manageable time-frame. Take a moment, close your eyes, and let your imagination roam free \u2013 where do you really want to be in 3 years\u2019 time, what do you want to be doing and how? Once you know, you can start to plot your course\u2026break it down into 6-monthly targets that will get you to where you want to be!<\/p>\n
