Description

Based in the UK, Carthorse have performed together for the past six years in various incarnations, from a classic covers outfit to an Oasis tribute act, as well as in groups playing other genres like funk and 50s rock ‘n’ roll. Because of this, they have developed real versatility in the music they play to their audiences.
Their sets are centred on getting their audiences dancing and having fun. Because of this they encompass the last 60 years of popular music, with classic 50s tunes by artists like Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly all the way to the present day with songs by Arctic Monkey ... s and The Libertines.
An example of the adaptability of Carthorse is the fact that they are all multi-instrumentalists. Jack Barnes is the bassist and singer, and can also play the guitar. Ollie Weikert is the drummer and also sings, along with being able to play piano, bass & guitar. James McCrea is the guitarist and can play bass, drums & piano. Rory Evans plays guitar.
The band’s live experience has involved performing at a range of venues, including larger events like festivals and fairs as well as smaller, intimate gigs like weddings, parties and pub nights. The band also finished a very successful 5 month contract with Carnival Cruise Lines, where the success of the band can be seen in the reviews section.
