Ciadhra McGuire is a versatile and highly skilled solo jazz singer who performs regularly across the UK. In addition to her solo career, Ciadhra is currently a member of and choreographer to forties style, close harmony trio The Ragtime Dolls, who perform at a wide variety of different events from cabarets and variety shows to birthday parties, weddings and corporate events. She also sings with The Old World News, a popular wedding band that do gypsy jazz covers of pop songs. Ciadhra is also one half of vocal/ piano duo Earnest & Wilde, who have travelled the world with their multi award winn ... ing cabaret show Let’s Face The Music (and Franz). Ciadhra also provides surprise entertainment to high end corporate events through Bravo Singing Waiters. This particular type of performance requires a charming and bubbly personality to engage the audience, which Ciadhra brings in spades to warm and cheer any audience.
A prominent member of Glasgow Music Theatre, Ciadhra has performed in many musicals and variety nights in both leading and ensemble roles in the past few years, notably playing the roles of Tricia in Chorus Line, Rapunzel in Into The Woods, Gloria in Flashdance and Angel in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. As an ensemble member, she has also performed in their productions of How To Succeed In Business (a dance heavy show) and Merrily We Roll Along. More recently Ciadhra has taken on lead roles with the Giffnock Theatre Players in Glasgow, starring in varied productions such as Susan in Woody Allen's Don't Drink the Water and Olivia in Twelfth Night.
When not performing through the many varied avenues above, Ciadhra can be found teaching piano to children in the west end of Glasgow and working as a puppeteer/actor/musician with Oak Note Theatre touring nurseries in Scotland performing puppet shows and music workshops promoting anti- bullying and anti- sectarianism. Finally, Ciadhra can sometimes be found appearing as Elsa from Disney's Frozen numerous children's parties.
Other performance experience includes acting as Host/ Compere for various cabaret or speakeasy events and performing for Spirit of Glasgow as an actor in their murder mystery dinners, both of which require a lot of improvisation. Read More
