I am a professional ballerina and a contemporary dancer. I also have a background in commercial dance. That versatility allows me to perform very technical ballet movements with my pointe shoes on or off and to also tap into the freedom and raw energy of modern dance.
Description
I am a professionnel ballerina and contemporary dancer as well. I like to keep diversity in my work. That way, I might do a very contemporary solo for a certain event and choreograph a ballet solo with my pointe shoes on for an other event. I like to play with diverse qualities of movement , such as slowness, fluidity, rapidity and sharpness.
Biography
Pauline Gervais began the professional program at Quebec's École supérieure de ballet in 2004, completing it in May 2017. During her training, she had the opportunity to work with various choreographers, including Robert Glumbek, Gioconda Barbuda and Shawn Hounsell. She performs "Nutcracker " with Ballet Ouest of Montreal from 2014 to 2017 as a demi-soloiste and corps de ballet.
Passionate about choreography, Pauline Gervais develops her choreographic interpretation of gesture by adapting into novels such as The Ice People by René Barjavel and Oscar Wilde's The portrait of Dorian Gr
... ay. She performs her first solo piece on the Festival Quartiers Danses stage in 2017 and receives the award "Discovery on stage".
She also participated in projects for the video production company Roméo et Fils, including Maxyme by Caravane and Drama by Obey The Brave , as a dancer and choreographer.
Experience
I choreographed numerous videoclips for music bands with the video house production "Romeo et Fils". I participated in the summer intensive Axis Connect in 2016, which was oriented towards commercial and contemporary dance.
Previous Clients
I choreographed and danced two dance pieces for the Festival Quartiers in Montreal, Canada from 2016 to 2017. I also danced in the videoclips I choreographed for the Video House production "Romeo et fils".
