NEW YORK CITY BORN AMERICAN BELIZEAN INTERDISCIPLINARY ARTIST DWAYNE BEACH IS KEEPING THE DISTINCTION OF A RENAISSANCE MAN THROUGH HIS WORK AS A DANCER, SINGER-SONGWRITER, POLYGOT BUT MOSTLY AS A VIOLIST AND VIOLINIST. AS A MUSICIAN HE IS WORKING TO MAKE THE IMAGE OF THE CLASSICAL VIRTUOSO RELEVANT IN THE 21ST CENTURY. HE RECENTLY SAT IN THE CONCERTMASTER CHAIR FOR THE GRAMMY AWARD WINNING MUSICAL ALANIS MORRISETTE'S JAGGED LITTLE PILL ON BROADWAY VIA THE FIRST NORTH AMERICAN NATIONAL TOUR. DWAYNE HAS BEEN THE FIRST AFRO LATINO OR BLACK MUSICIAN TO HAVE PLAYED IN THE SARAJEVSKA FILHARMONIJA T ... HE NATIONAL ORCHESTRA IN SARAJEVO, BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA DURING THE 18-19' SEASON. HE MADE APPEARANCES PERFORMING ON SOME OF THE MOST stunning stages and opera houses in Canada, Italy, MOnaco, Mexico, Qatar, Serbia and all over the united States.
Dwayne is a Master degree laureate from Brooklyn College Conseratory who studied Viola/Violin performance and pedagogy with legendary pedagog Masao Kawasaki. He received his Baccalaureate in Music from city University of New York @ Hunter College in viola under the tutelage of Dr. Reuben Blundell and second disciplines in Linguistics, Anthropological studies and Literature. As well he has also received an artistic diploma from Accademia Walter Stauffer in Cremona, Italy
Ballroom dance offered Dwayne a very competitive environment. He won various championship level ballroom/latin dance competitions, of the more notable in the collegiate and professional circuit, (DCDi) District of Columbia Dancesport Invitational 2013, Harvard Invitational 2014, Caribbean Dancesport, PR 2014, and MId-Atlantic National Championship 2015. As of present he has been working to invite ballroom into other traditional styles he has been practicing. THru working with Maria Torres Dance Company, and choreographers like wayne DAniel & Princess Lockeroo, he has been DOING ROOT WORK INCORPORATING AFRICAN DANCE, AFRO-CUBAN, ORISHA DANCE, AND WAACKING INTO HIS MOVEMENT VOCABULARY FOR HIS WORKS. OF MORE RECENT, HE WILL BE TACKLING A NEW CREATIVE ARTIST ROLE FOR THE Afro-Latin immersion theatre program at the prestigious School at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival.
Significant highlights are as follows: In 2017 he created original compositions that explore movement with sound. Working with Yamini Kalluri, an acclaimed Kuchipudi Indian classical dance expert, together they have been touring with their interdisciplinary composition titled “East Meets West.” stateside and abroad at venues like Small Plates Festival, Lorton,VA, Íslenski Dansflokkurinn at Reykjavik City Theatre, Iceland, The Courtyard Center of the Arts, Herefordshire, United Kingdoms and for Mod Art Dance Collective at Mark Morris, NYC. In 2018 he released his first solo EP Project Shoo False Love, I Fear Not! which consists of 5 songs for voice and strings that he composed, self produced and choreographed for a video release. During the civil discord brought to the main stage by the pandemic he has created his first politically driven BLM anthem Right to Liberty which has been played on over 5 international stations, for which after he developed a dance video celebrating Black and African excellence in the diaspora.
Most recently he had the most successful respect with his interdisciplinary display in his unique performances with Old to The Black Fiddler Festival 2021 displaying compositions of his own and a release of an epic cover of Annie Lennox’s Sweet Dreams. Had the opportunity to compose a composition titled Esperanza Viva for award winning Choreographer Maria Torres for her namesake dance company, and winning multiple grants from City Artist Corp and New York Foundation of the Art to support his upcoming works.
As a co-founder of a duo called The F-Tones they released their first album called Sketches in 2018 a fusion album of classical, Gypsy jazz, and pop originals scores for guitar and violin. In Addition to his solo performance endeavours he played with other international ensembles like One World Symphony ‘11-13, World Peace Orchestra '13, Asian Cultural Symphony of New York ’15-present and Ureuk Symphony Orchestra (NYC) as Principal and Co-Principal Violist at various points in their seasons. He also works locally in Brooklyn as a conductor and teaching artist for The Noel Pointer String Players performing through the Tri-state region of NYC. Another notable performance, his Jazz at Lincoln Center debut in April 2010 as a viola soloist with Kentucky Chamber Choir.
In mist of his performance role as principal violist, Dwayne’s sound has been described by another orchestral musician as.... “A warm sound that carries the orchestra. You can be transfixed by his body expressions and sound. He’s like the meat of the orchestra… really humble, a good leader, and very passionate” (Magna Blemur, The Hunter Bridge).

* Guarneri del gesu "Leduc" 1745 copy violin crafted in 2016 by Ma Zhibin.
As for his future musical aspiration he hopes to someday have a concerto written for him as the dedicatee and as it's initial performer, as well as revivify and concertize lesser known gem in the viola repertoire and works by minority composers.

Welcome to my violin/viola studio. My name is Dwayne. I’m a professional violist/violinist, songwriter and teacher with more than 20 years of experience teaching strings and performing. I have played all over the world in countries like Italy, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Monaco, Serbia Qatar and the United States and just finished performing as Concertmaster on the Broadway stage with Jagged Little Pill the musical.
My experience covers all levels of string playing from beginner to professional. And as an online teacher I am happy to offer my service to help you learn how to play any piece of music whether it's your favorite song or piece, and greatly improve your technique in preparation for an exam, audition, concert or competition.
