Keishia is a versatile dancer. She has performed many dance genres for various theatre productions, commercial productions, film productions as well as corporate and sporting events. Dance Genres: Commercial, Hip hop, Classical ballet, Contemporary, Burlesque and Jazz.
Biography
Training:
Keishia Solomon is a passionate and dedicated dancer who enjoys various styles of dancing.
She has been dancing since the age of four when she started training at Nadine Gomes School of Ballet. She completed The Advance 2 qualification in Cecchetti Ballet and progressed further by completing her training as a teacher of the method in 2008. During her years of training, Keishia also danced for the Cape Junior Ballet company at the University of Cape Town. She danced with the company from 2003 - 2007.
Keishia had the opportunity to be involved in various theatre productions
... locally and abroad whilst still very young. She also found the time to be competitive in ballet by winning the title of Best Regional Dancer in the Cecchetti method for 3 consecutive years (Grade 5 level, Intermediate Foundation level and Intermediate level).
Career:
Keishia started her career as both a ballet teacher and a professional dancer.
Her first teaching position was with Nadine Gomes school of ballet from 2009 - 2011. She then progressed into becoming a partner with Nadine Gomes in 2013 where the name of the school changed to On Pointe school of ballet. Keishia taught as the head teacher and choreographer for On Pointe school of ballet which held roughly 200 students from 2012 - 2019.
She not only strives to share her passion for dancing in the classroom but also on stage. Keishia thrives on building her skill and learning more about the performing industry. She has worked hard to immerse herself in various genres to adapt easily to the style and personality of any choreographer and event.
In the period from 2008 - 2020, Keishia performed as a professional dancer on various platforms for many corporate events, sporting events, commercial productions and film productions. Her most recent performing work is listed below:
