Description

I'm a singer who is capable of performing many genres. The gigs I usually book are with venues seeking solo singers to be paired with a musician or full band. If time permits, I gather the material for the gig and arrange continuous music sets. Usually, there is little to no time to rehearse before the residency begins. Being a professional and having been paired with top notch musicians, the sets come together within the first month of the gig and we coast for the remainder of the gig as we continue to learn songs and keep our sound fresh.

Set-List

I sing Jazz, Classic R&B & Pop, and Reggae. I also sing in Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin. My set list includes a range of genres and eras.

Biography

I've been singing since I've been speaking. I've honed my skills working with the best musicians and singers in New York City and across the globe. I'm a graduate of NYU’s prestigious "Tisch School of the Arts." I was cast as Joanne in “Rent,” on Broadway, during my final college semester.
I was handpicked by John Legend to join him as his background vocalist on his first world tour. I've also shared stages with James Brown, Kanye West, John Mayer, and A Tribe Called Quest. I've collaborated with other talents as a studio vocalist and songwriter. I recently earned my first songwriting ... credit.
I love gigging overseas. I've completed contracts in Macau, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Shanghai. I’ve been fortunate to work with some brilliant local musicians. The cultural exchanges have been unique and have made my experiences even more enriching. I enjoy covering R&B, Pop, Funk, and Jazz favorites. I also sing in Spanish and Portuguese. Audiences in Asia are receptive to many genres and I pride myself on being able to take them on a musical journey. When I’m supported by a great band, with the ability to cross genres, the gig is just magical. I've been dazzling audiences for years, at sea, as a production and lounge singer. It’s another opportunity to see the world while doing what I love. I’m grateful for every opportunity to share my gift. Wherever I go, it is demonstrated that music is the language that connects us all. My passion for music and love of life is
infectious. Just close your eyes and be taken away.

"Alia has been a pleasure to work with. She has a great voice, can harmonize well, and is knowledgable about pop music. Even though we had a short time together, I can tell she is a professional singer at a very high level. She knows how to work the crowd, lead the band when appropriate, and is a strong singer. I wish we could keep her here on the Sensation but due to operational reasons, her talents can be utilized elsewhere on the fleet. Clearly for me, with no rehearsals and minimal amounts of rehearsing, we were able to deliver great performances and memorable experiences to our guests with Alia as our second singer."

I can sing in Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin. I can learn songs in other languages with enough time to prepare. I move well and can get the audience involved. I also have hosting skills and MC abilities.
