Biography

Sandy started to tread the boards first singing when she was 5 years old and by the age of 9 was performing on the stage as "Annie" and "Sandy" in Grease. She then went on to perform professionally including the West End. She has been performing professionally as a soloist and part of a 5 piece function band over the last several years and for the last 10 years she has also ran her own Performing Arts Company where she teaches singing and dancing to students putting on 2 variety shows a year at a live theatre show. Experience

I am an extremely confident, energetic, approachable and professional individual who loves to pass on my wealth of experiences and talents to others. I have been involved with the Performing Arts industry from a young age first appearing as Annie at the age of 8 at Newcastle Royal, to performing in the West End of London. This is what inspired me to set my sucessful business up in Adlib Performing Arts promoting and teaching Dance, Drama and Singing. I am currently in a 5 piece Function/Wedding Band as the Lead Singer and as a Solo singer and have the hunger to promote my passion back into ... the business after spending time bringing my children up.
WORK AND EXPERIENCE
MARCH 2013-JULY 2015 – I worked as a Suppport Worker/Teacher for 2 brain Injury teenagers where I work on a 1-1 basis teaching them the GCSE syllabus in a non-academic dynamic manner through game, song, sport and any other diverse way enabling them to achieve their potentials.
SEPT 2006 – PRESENT: ADLIB PERFORMING ARTS
I started Adlib Performing Arts up after performing for many years on the stage and wanting to give something back in return. It offers classes in dance, singing and drama from the age of 5 to 18+. I also have experience within Special Needs, from Aspergus, ADHD, ADD and Autism.
The emphasis is on the development of the students’ self esteem, emotional growth and moral development. Students embark on a journey of self-discovery through their arts and work together to produce full-length family orientated shows in a non-competitive environment. I also train students to teach and choreograph their own dances with some of them now being employed as teachers. There are currently around 60 students through the school, and employ 4 student teachers. I also manage all the administrative duties.
Through Adlib I used to teach dance at various schools across the region covering PPA time, PE lessons, lunch-time and after school clubs. I taught various year groups showing that dance can be fun but learning at the same time. They learn different styles of dance from Salsa, to Street Dance and Stage. I was monitored by Oftsed at Abingdon Primary School where it was reported that they were impressed with my teaching skills, enabling both boys and girls to be enthusiastic and committed towards their learning.

I had a client base of 1200 customers and delievered an exceptional service resulting in sales, bringing one of my branches up to 5th in the country. It is here that I learned my business skills to run my successful business.
