Biography

Blues and Roots Rock journeyman C.J. Benoit started his music career on (of all days) July 7th, 2007. Since then he's played shows alongside acts such as the Boston's Ten Foot Polecats, DC Blues crusaders the Nighthawks, Beach Country Heroes Randy Lee Ashcraft & the Saltwater Cowboys and many more. As a solo artist, he combines a quick wit and an almost bottomless knowledge of music ranging from Bob Wills to Jimmy Buffett to John Lee Hooker, oftentimes all three within the same song. As the guitarist and frontman of the Baltimore-based Roots Rock band Los Swamp Monsters, he's a raw talent on t ... he electric guitar, drawing comparisons to ZZ Top and Brian Setzer.

“Some really wild raunchy rockabiily, roots R&R and blues from Los Swamp Monsters at Dicks Halfway Inn Friday, sometimes mixing two genders together as they did when the performed a nice rockabilly version of Big Boss Man! I had a good time hearing this band for the first time and liked that they played quite a few songs no one else plays like Sir Douglas Quintet's She's About a Mover and many others I wasn't familiar with but all of it really made your your body move!”
