IS A JAZZ SINGER RIGHT FOR MY EVENT?
The classic jazz songs of Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald are surely hard to beat when it comes to adding romance to your big day. A jazz singer can serenade you as you walk down the aisle, singing your all-time favourite love song. Even if it’s not a jazz number, they can give it that tone and twist and really make it a beautiful and memorable entrance.
If you’re looking to warm the atmosphere at your wedding breakfast with some gentle background music, or create a relaxed vibe in between speeches and during photographs, the mellow mood created by an experienced jazz vocalist is ideal, helping friends and family to feel good and enjoy the social side of the day.
At your drinks reception, you can raise the energy levels with some upbeat swing songs, setting the tone for the evening celebrations to come.
Whether it’s a sit-down dinner event for your colleagues and clients, a big bash to celebrate your annual work-do or a big charity event, the jazz singers listed in our directory can cover it all. As well as adding the glamour and sophistication required to impress your guests, they will bring people to the dance floor, get them singing along and leave the crowd wanting more.
Want to make your party go with a swing? What better way than to hire a super-talented jazz singer who will delight your guests with that amazing voice. Jazz vocalists can bring fantastic energy to any party, lifting everyone’s spirits and getting their toes tapping, ready to hit the dance floor.
Whether you’re looking for up-front, stand-out vocals to wow the crowd at a big celebration or birthday bash, or you’re in need of some ambient background music for a cocktail party or after-dinner entertainment, a jazz singer can deliver!
If you’re organising a retro or vintage-themed event, you’re going to need a Jazz Singer. Fill your glass, dim the lights and get that low-down feeling as one of our talented Jazz Singers performs songs by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Michael Bublé and Gregory Porter. Or, if your guests enjoy dancing, request some Duke Ellington and get that party started!
For a Mardi Gras style event, don your feathers and beads and let the good times roll with some New Orleans swing and rhythm and blues, or if you’re planning a roaring twenties, speakeasy theme, why not go for 1920s Chicago jazz, with hits by Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong or Jelly Roll Morton, and invite your guests to dress up as flappers and gangsters!
HOW MUCH WILL A JAZZ SINGER COST?
The cost of hiring a jazz singer will depend on whether they have a backing band, and how big it is, as well as their level of experience.
As an overview, for a solo jazz singer / guitar or keyboard singer you can expect to pay £200 - £500 in the UK ($500 in the U.S. and €600 in Europe). A two or three person set-up would be around £400 to £500 in the UK ($500 in the U.S. and €600 in Europe) and for a 4 or 5-piece band you can expect to pay between £1000 and £2000 in the UK ($1000-$2000 in the U.S. and €1200-€2300 in Europe).
Singers and bands will charge more at key times of year such as Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Since the prices do vary widely, we highly recommend getting in touch with your chosen performer for a completely free, no-obligation quote.

HOW LONG CAN I HIRE A JAZZ SINGER FOR?
On average, Jazz Singers perform 2 x 45 minute sets, although they can tailor their performance times to suit you and your event. Please feel free to let your performer know how long long you would like them for when you ask for a quote.
Many singers can offer acoustic sets as well as a full band lineup, or will have the facility to play pre-recorded music through the PA using a laptop. Either way, your guests can enjoy some background music during dinner or in between sets and this will be cheaper than hiring multiple acts.
