Early Years of Training and Education
• I am currently 24 years old and I have been Hula-Hooping since I was 3 years old - after my parents have noticed my interest in this beautiful circus genre and assigned me for a children’s talent show in my home town. Since then for the first few years I haven’t been couched at all and I was self-teaching, by watching videos and life performances of other hula-hopers. Meanwhile, I took part a few times in a Sunday kid’s show which was broadcasted back in the 90’s and early 2000s on the Bulgarian National TV. And numerous of other children’s ... contests and talent shows. I was encouraged to keep up by a well-known Hula Hoop performer back home – Svetla Vaptsarova, who thought me a few basics and helped a bit with my development at the time.
• the 2000 -2004 At the age of 7 I have met my teacher – Pavel Davidyants, who is a professional Russian circus couch and performer. Nowadays, he runs his own circus school full time in Moscow. He was performing with his Bulgarian wife back in my hometown during the summers on a contract and was spending the winters back in Russia with his other students. It was 4 hours trainings every day for 4 years. During that time afterwards as an extra I have taken some ballet classes, stretching classes and dancing classes, which helped me as well to build my flow and be multifunctional in term of thematical performances.
• At the age of 10 I have joined a synchronized swimming team and have been professionally competing for about 9 years on an international level. I have been part of a few water shows as well, combining both my Hula Hoop and Synchronized swimming skills.
