When Jane West isn't playing in bands, duos, or choral projects, she is soloing with her guitar creating a relaxed and engaged atmosphere. Jane plays acoustic guitar while singing a number of genres, depending on the event. Most of the time Jane blends new/old country with classic rock, motown, and roots/folk/Americana songs; she isn't limted to those genres, though.

Biography

Jane West summons Americana voices like Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris, with the contemporary sounds of Gillian Welch and Rachel Price in a relaxed, engaged atmosphere. Singing all over the Greater Pittsburgh Area since she was six years old, Jane has been fortunate enough to perform a variety of genres including: rock, jazz, blues, folk, classical, opera, funk, choral, bluegrass, electronica, Celtic, musical theatre, and even barbershop. Her passion for music has followed her throughout her musical studies (nationally and internationally) since she was 9 years old, learning several instrum ... ents along the way of her vocal journey.
Jane regularly performs not only solo, but also in numerous duos and bands in an acoustic, electric, and sometimes an a capella setting. Time allowing, she teaches beginner guitar/vocal lessons, and promotes/reviews music locally and is currently recording. When she's not performing, Jane enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, feeding her concert addiction, petting every dog & cat she meets, and thrills in finding as much old vinyl as possible in stores all over the country. 4 years in piano/guitar duo focusing on jazz, old country, and pop, called "West Ben Power"
4 years in female acoustic duo, called "West Holliday Trip," playing all genres with main focus on vocal harmonies. Played guitar, mandolin, bass, keys, and percussion.
5 years as backup singer, rhythm guitarist, percussionist, and keyboardist for band, "Shiva Skydriver." Electric rock group performing full album covers, including "Rumou ... rs," "Led Zeppelin II," "Who's Next," "Ziggy Stardust," and "Bella Donna."
5 years as singer with Pittsburgh country legend, Slim Forsythe. Sang heart-wrenching country duets featuring stellar harmonies, acoustic or full band performances.
6 years with strings player, Joe Golden, of Westmoreland String Workshop. Voice, guitar, banjo, fiddle, percussion are featured in this roots/Americana duo.
