Biography

Steve Bedi is a renowned, award-winning Ghanaian Jazz Saxophonist and has been in the entertainment industry for the past 18 years. In his native country, Ghana, he is without a doubt, the premier, ace, jazz saxophonist of his time, whose prowess was acknowledged when he won the Instrumentalist of the Year Award (2012). Beyond Ghana, Steve Bedi is acknowledged as a “world class jazz musician”.
Steve Bedi has performed at international music festivals as well as private shows in New York, Geneva, France (Les Escales Festival), South Africa (Joy of Jazz Festival), Sierra Leone (Ballanta ... Music Festival), Malawi (Sunbird and Lake of Stars festivals), Copenhagen jazz festival and Ghana (Stanbic Jazz Festivals).
He has also featured on stage with legendary musicians on the African continent: South Africa’s (Late) Hugh Masekela, Senegal’s Baba Maal, Cote d’Ivoire’s Freddie Meiway, Cameroun’s Richard Bona, America’s Bob James, Gerald Albright, Tom Braxton and the celebrated Ghanaian group – OSIBISA. He appeared on major events for Embassies, International Agencies, and corporate platforms for companies like Fidelity Bank, Access Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, UT Bank, CAL Bank, Samsung, Porsche, Old Mutual, Guinness Ghana, Global Media Alliance, Vodafone and MTN, Club 100 and many more.
Apart from his work in the entertainment industry, Steve Bedi is also an appreciated philanthropist for his work with young people and on HIV – which earned him the role as UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for the Global HIV prevention campaign among young people – “Protect the Goal”. October 2018, Steve performed to top diplomats and high-profile officials at the 73rd United Nations Day celebration held in Beijing making him the First African Artiste to headline such a high-profile event in China.
He is an artist of good repute and standing and conscious to maintain a strong, credible and respectable brand. As such, Steve is sought after by several corporate, international and government bodies and invited to support branding/imaging initiatives as well as product launches across Africa.

I'm a lover of music, especially jazz. I was invited to an event which was the celebration of the late Prez. Nelson Mandela in Accra, Ghana organized by the South African Embassy. There I was with my team and this good looking guy walked on stage and started playing his saxophone alongside his band. To my awe, he blew me and everyone away, including H.E. Nana Akuffo Addo the Prez. of Ghana. Everyone couldn't get enough of his beautiful performance. In my opinion, this artiste Steve Bedi, is a great force to reckon with and he is one of Africa's best indeed. I believe he would soon become one of the greatest world music icon with class to have emerged from Ghana. Believe me...... I've been around the world and I know what I'm talking about about.

When you talk of great contemporary jazz/fusion of this era, the only name that comes to mind is the award winning jazz artiste Steve Bedi. His personality and qualities as jazz artiste, is top class. He's reliable and efficient. On stage, his performances are lively and electrifying and as an audience, you can only fall in love with him. I had the opportunity to work with him on his jazz concerts in the US and I must say as a matter of fact that Steve Bedi is a great guy, kind-hearted, an artiste with class and a legend in the making.
