I am a natural performer with a passion for entertaining audiences. I am highly adaptable and can perform a wide range of genres, from pop and jazz to classical and musical theatre. I am also an excellent communicator, able to engage with audiences of all ages and backgrounds, and to create a memorable and enjoyable experience.

Biography

My name is Nhlanhla Jacob Mahlangu, stage name is Jazzman, born in the East Rand side of Gauteng. My musical journey was born as a member of a church band. I have started music in February 2007 as a Pianist, brass player (English Horn) and graduated to other instruments, I tried playing a clarinet for about a year in 2009 and I couldn’t get satisfied till I started playing Saxophone in 2010.​
I then joined Sedibeng Marines a year later to expand and enhance my skills in a marching band. Fortunately I was introduced to western art music by some of my band mates and joined the UNISA musi ... c foundation wind band in 2015.​
Jazzman is also a member of a versatile band by him and his friends which is an 8piece ensemble by the name of Inception of Harmony. I then became a sessionist and started to have an ambition of being an independent artist(personal brand) as a Saxophonist inspired by the likes of Gerald Albright and Kirk Whalum.
I have been performing for 10 years and have honed my skills in Saxophone performance and singing. I have received extensive training and education in music theory and practical with the University of South Africa and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Music. and have had the opportunity to perform at a variety of venues, including weddings, concerts, gala dinners clubs, craft bars and corporate events, which are Sun International Time Square, Shepstone Gardens, The Green Craft, Red Ivory Hartbeespoort, Tilt Resto Bar, Barn @ Redstone Garden, Summer Boutique Hotel, Protea Hotel Fire & Ice Menlyn, Katy's Palace Bar Sandton, Menlyn Boutique Hotel, Ultimate Sky La Perna, Houghton hotel, Riverside Hotel Durban and many more. ​
