Kym Franklin

Biography

Kym Franklin is a vibrant and gifted vocal coach, vocalist and composer. She is uniquely equipped to effectively perform diverse musical genres, from classical to gospel, while carefully maintaining their stylistic integrity, interpretation and technique.
She is a falcon soprano whose passion for the human spirit, extensive knowledge of the human voice and understanding of the synergistic relationship between the two has set her apart as a professional vocalist and instructor. Kym was awarded her M. M. in Vocal Performance/Vocal Pedagogy (with emphasis in Choral Conducting) from Roosevelt ... University, Chicago, Illinois, in January 2000.
She has shared the stage with such noted artists as Mavis Staples, Al Green, MC Hammer, R Kelly, Chuck Berry, Max Weinberg, BiIl Cosby, Tia and Tamera, Sister Sledge the O’ Jays, Plain White T’s and more!  Kym’s client list includes professional singers such as Genevieve; former front woman for Company of Thieves (Wind Up Records) and Sarah Simmons of The Voice (Season 4).
Kym stays busy teaching and performing on stage and in the studio. She is pursuing opportunities that will allow her to live her simple but powerful mission through music; to uplift, inspire and remind us of our purpose while reassuring us that we are loved. Read More

Private Voice Lessons

Vocal training is designed to instruct and equip the student with proper breath support, vocal technique and stage presence. Lessons are one-on-one, weekly and tailored to fit the client’s individual needs
*Prerequisites: A potential client’s acceptance into the KYV Vocal Training Program is at the sole discretion of the KYV instructor. Upon acceptance, the KYV Vocal Assessment must be completed prior to the client’s initial lesson.

Vocal Coaching

A vocal coach advises and guides their client through the client’s own repertoire of songs. The client will receive feedback and recommendations on how to improve and execute the material.
*Prerequisites: A potential client’s acceptance into the KYV Vocal Coaching Program is at the sole discretion of the KYV coach. Upon acceptance, the KYV Vocal Assessment must be completed prior to the client’s initial coaching session.
