The Bailey Dolls are a London-based vintage vocal trio who adore intricate harmonies, swinging rhythms, old-fashioned humour and rip-roaring entertainment!
The Bailey Dolls are Rita, Kitty and Ronnie – all professionally trained musical theatre performers with a shared love of bygone eras, big movie musicals of the 1940's and the classic sound of the Andrews Sisters, The Boswell Sisters, Glen Miller and more. To set the Dolls apart from other vintage trios they have established their own charming, 'golden era of Hollywood' inspired characters.
They regularly perform classic 1940s and ... wartime sets to backing tracks at vintage events, corporate events, private parties and weddings across the country, including most recently at The Australian Embassy, London, Leicester Racecourse Vintage Carnival, Bletchley Park 1940s weekend and Saddleworth Yanks weekend.
The Dolls also produce their own live-band cabaret shows, which combine their 1940s repertoire with a ‘downdated’ take on more modern numbers and where their characters and cheeky, irreverent, old-fashioned humour comes to the fore. These bespoke cabaret shows have been performed to sell-out audiences with 4 and 5-star reviews at the Adelaide Fringe Festival and across the UK. Recent shows have included Hever Festival Theatre at Hever Castle, The Adelaide Oval, The Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. They perform alongside ‘The Duckies’, a swing band of 3 to 6 (number depending on the event) of London’s finest Jazz musicians.
Their repertoire includes 1940s classic favourites such as Sing Sing Sing , In The Mood, Chattanooga Choo Choo , It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got That Swing, Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree, Lullaby of Broadway, Tico Tico , Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Hold Tight and many more!
For performances with a live band, they can also include a 'downdated' take on an eclectic range of more modern hits including Britney Spears, Meghan Trainor, The Foo Fighters, Michael Jackson, Vanilla Ice, Labrinth, Survivor, Eurythmics and Soft Cell amongst others.
For Christmas, they offer a sparkling collection of feel-good festive classics and yule-tide cheer!
Their versatile style is ideally adapted for any event from full live-band cabaret show to floor-filling concert-style performance or a delightful background-music set during dinner or drinks events. The Bailey Dolls can be hired to perform to backing tracks or with their wonderful swing band, The Duckies. They can adapt their repertoire and fabulous costumes to fit themes such as 1940s glamour, wartime and Christmas.
