Biography
Since playing its first live show in January of 2010, Mainstreet Soul has received a warm reception from the Detroit-area music scene and beyond. The band was nominated for Detroit Music Awards in 2011, 2013, 2014 & 2015, 2017 and were winners in 2016 for "Outstanding Urban Recording" for their single entitled "In Detroit". The band has performed at local venues, private parties, festivals, weddings and even in a movie. Mainstreet Soul secured a part in the film “Salvation Boulevard” starring Pierce Brosnan, Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Marisa Tomei and Greg Kinnear, which was released in
... 2011. The band recorded their first original song entitled, “Black Dress Baby”, which was used in a Quicken Loans commercial and starred Magic Johnson that aired nationally on TV & radio in the fall of 2011. The positive response and big-screen exposure surely place Mainstreet Soul among the ranks of the best cover bands in Michigan.
Mainstreet Soul’s sound is unique, and the band members’ personalities shine through in every performance of songs made famous by such artists as Tower of Power; Stevie Wonder; Etta James; Chicago; Alicia Keys; Prince; Aretha Franklin; Michael Jackson; Bruno Mars and much more.

Mainstreet Soul blew our expectation out of the water. One of our most important expenses was the band for our wedding day and MSS did not disappoint. We received so many compliments from our guests and danced the entire night. Our photographer told us she's never seen the dance floor so packed. They listened to all of our requests and were accommodating during the months leading up, including attending a site visit. We can't thank Jim and the rest of the band for making our wedding unforgettable. You will not regret hiring them for your wedding!

This band is absolutely incredible. I was fortunate enough to have them play at my wedding and their performance made it a night to remember. They have such a diverse set of songs, ranging from classic 50's hits to contemporary music. The energy they bring is contagious and everyone there was out on the dance floor. The band leader Jim is a great guy and makes the reservation process easy. The band members and singers are incredibly kind as well. I highly, highly recommend this band. They're outstanding.

Mainstreet Soul played at our son's wedding reception in November and they are The. Best. Band. Ever! All the guests danced the night away and we received many compliments! Several of our friends said it felt like they were at a concert. The brass section and vocals are exceptional! We would highly recommend MainStreet Soul!
