26-year-old Singer/Rapper, Songwriter and Producer Merki Waters is one of the UK’s outstanding up and coming artists, noted for his creative lyricism and superb vocal delivery.
With sharp biting commentary and the aspirations and hopes of a generation put to pulsating grooves and stirring melodies you are taken on a lyrical and musical journey throughout his live show, that inspires.
Merki has been supported by BBC Introducing with Dave Monks on BBC Radio Merseyside and has had great support for his tracks “This Love”, "Calling My Name" & "Nobody Else".
With support from the Art
... s Council of England, Merki performed alongside African High Life Band “Sa Mon Di” on a 7 date tour of the UK in 2014. The showcase included an exciting blend of contemporary British Urban/Pop music fused with West African High Life music.
In August 2013 Merki performed at the Liverpool International Music Festival headlined by Damian Marley.
In 2012 Merki Waters was chosen by Bafta Award winning actor Adam Deacon as a performer to appear at the “Somewhere To” showcase at the Olympic Park Bandstand in London.
Merki Waters is a founder of the Lab Music Foundation C.I.C which has been providing services to meet some of the needs of underprivileged local acts in Liverpool in the form of music workshops, performance training, audio/video recording, showcase events as well as providing a youtube platform “Lab Tv” which is now the most popular unsigned urban media broadcaster in the Northwest of England, with over 8 million views in total & over 10K subscribers, showcasing video content of rappers, singers, musicians and other entertainment.
