Megaphonics is a group of professional musicians that have been on stage most of their lives. With a combined experience of over 25 years, Cristina, Cosmin, Aron, Vlad and Marius got together out of the desire to create a cover project that does it all. Thus Megaphonics was born, a band where class & style meet fun & funky and crazy passionate musicians leave their hearts out on the stage and keep their audiences enchanted and thoroughly entertained.

Biography

Megaphonics is a group of professional musicians that have been on
stage most of their lives. With a combined experience of over 25
years, Cristina, Cosmin, Aron, Vlad and Marius got together out of
the desire to create a cover project that does it all. Thus
Megaphonics was born, a band where class & style meet fun & funky
and crazy passionate musicians leave their hearts out on the stage
and keep their audiences enchanted and thoroughly entertained.
CRISTINA Dobrescu - You could hear the actual sound of jaws hitting the floor the first time
Cristina stepped on the X Factor stage in ... 2011 and blew the roof off with an AC/DC cover, since
nobody expected such incredibly powerful voice to come from such a tiny person. Though she keeps
suprising everyone, Cristina has been owning each moment she spent on stage since she was 6 years
old. In 2012 she left her native port town city Constanta to conquer the world with her talent. She
studied CVT and she was a vocal coach for almost 3 years. Her entertaining skills made her one of the
most appreciated frontwomen in the field, and in 2018 she had her first contact with cruise ship life.
Now she is an accomplished musician, sharing her time between the stage and the studio. Three
years ago she started the project MegaPhonics, along with Cosmin Farcas.
COSMIN Farcas’s extensive experience as a keyboard player and vocalist includes many
projects. A jazz, blues, funk and rock aficionado Cosmin soon discovered his interest for that special
kind of fusion that merges new music with old one: electro-jazz, nu-jazz, nu-disco, experimental,
influences which can be found also in his electronic project. Cosmin is part of „Rares Totu's Midnight
Sun” blues rock band for 10 years, where also plays the hammond organ and harmonica. In parallel,
he played in cover bands, and for 3 years now, he is part of MegaPhonics. Besides these, he works as
a studio musician and composer/producer on his solo projects and for other artists.
ÁRON Szabó-Sebők's introduction to playing a musical instrument happened at 10 years old
with his first great love, the piano. Six years later though he fell in love with the classical guitar and
he owns also a master degree (Transilvania University of Brașov Music Faculty). Ten years ago he
picked up the electric guitar and they've been inseparable ever since. He has been an invaluable
member of the Philarmonic Orchestra of Brașov and collaborated with a couple of cover bands, and
in 2018 got hid first contract on a cruise ship. Extremely passionate, he loves to share his knowledge
to others so he gives guitar lessons.
MARIUS "The Bear" Lung discovered his affinity for guitar when he was a teenager. He was
autodidact and for about 5 years took part in some rock bands in his hometown. Also won 2nd place
at Samus Rock Alive Festival in '99. One year later, he left the electric guitar to pick up the bass
guitar. He signed a contract as a bass player with the mainstream band "Stigma", leading to 6 years
of national tours and 3 recorded albums. From 2005 he plays in different projects (covers, rock, folk,
pop, electronic music), also with big names in the romanian industry. He played in 4 big shows with
the Voice of Romania's finalists and in the last 4 years was the bass player of Special Guest Orchestra,
along with other 12 singers and instrumentists.
VLAD Tohanean is the beating heart of Megaphonics. He has been a passionate drummer
since he was 4, and he had his first gig at age of 6. His father is also a musician, so he grew up in a
musical environment. At 12 yo he started his own musical project called "Youvenis", and at 15 he
started the jazz project "Secret Formula", who won several trophies at the festival's around the
country. His magnetic stage presence and energy turned him into one of the most sought after
drummers in the country and the number of successful projects of all genres he has been a part of
could barely fit here. He graduated Plugor Sandor Music High school and he played with The
Bucharest Radio Orchestra, having the chance to share the stage with the biggest artists in Romania. Read More
