Biography

Hi! I’m Merry and I am a storyteller. I am in my third season as a dancer and circus artist with Allegro Dance Project and frequently perform with Sora Contemporary. I started performing with sing-a-long VHS tapes in my living room in Eastern Kentucky and never stopped. The stage was a safe space for me to find myself again after leaving an abusive marriage. Now, I strive to leave audiences with a feeling of magic and elevated energy. I believe in the power that art has to change audiences, performers, and communities. My favorite roles have been Rasputin in an aerial theatre production of A ... nastasia with Sora Aerial Arts and Adelaide in Guys and Dolls with Woodford Theatre. When I’m not on stage you’ll find me traveling for gigs or to train in Las Vegas and NYC or locally, training with Lexington Ballet and Sora Aerial Arts; you might also find me in the classroom, where I teach public speaking as a faculty lecturer at the university. Merry has over 20 years of on stage experience. She has a background in Vaganova ballet from Bluegrass Youth Ballet. Merry trains with top coaches and teachers from Cirque Du Soleil and Broadway.
