Biography

Jamie was taught to sing and appreciate music by his grandmother who used to sing in harmony with him at any opportune moments. Jamie graduated with an honours in performance in 2011 and has been performing swing music for a numbers of years but had the pleasure of playing Frank Sinatra at his first Fringe Festival in 2016. Since then he sold out his own show in 2017 playing the lovable Michael Bubbles in a production Jamie wrote and devised Bubbles and Martini this production was a huge success gaining 4 and 3 star reviews along with a complete sell-out run at Surgeons Hall.
Jamie had fai ... th in this project and self funded The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017.
In 2018 Jamie had a producer for his show An Evening with Michael Bubbles; this show was well received with audiences and critically scored a 4 star reviews. Audiences were unbelievably thankful all shaking hands with him every night.

Michael Bubbles proved to be a sell out success last year at the Fringe and this year the show is back. Michael has a superb voice for this music he is performing and highlighting We heard the song the best is yet to come at the start then, Michael tries to have the crowd involved as well as singing by telling jokes. Within minutes of starting, Michael has some of volunteers from the audience blowing bubbles to Cry Me a River as supposedly the budget had been cut and there was no professional bubble machine. We hear Michael giving his rendition of swing songs including a segment where the audience are able to sing along as the words are shown on the large screen including That’s Amore, Come Fly With Me, Little Old Wine Drinker Me and New York, New York. We hear a melody of songs from Cole Porter musicals. Michael also brings his wife to give a duet. Fantastic versions of God Only Knows and Crazy Thing Called Love.

Bubbles and Martini is packing in the crowds at Surgeons’ Hall, and it is not difficult to see why. It may not be the most demanding show on the Fringe, but it fills a need and certainly brings joy to its audience. Artanis Productions’ musical show was devised by Jamie Walker. There are clearly plenty of people who want to revel in that period, as testified by the singalong sell-out crowds this warm and heartfelt tribute is attracting.

"What would happen if Dean Martin made a comeback and met with the crooners of today? Somebody like Michael Buble for example? The closest we get can be viewed in this all original show starring Jamie Walker and Steve Pontin. They first came together in the Dean Martin Christmas Show a Fringe hit from last year at Greenside but this time the pair are on their own at the cocktail hour of five past 7. " "...Fly Me To The Moon and an inspired Home. The highlight was Evening In Roma which they both took in turn and even the Italiano parts." The show was well rehearsed, fast moving and humorous on two levels – the Rat Pack era Martini jokes and the Bubbles modern day quips trading side by side. For a debut show this was accomplished and for a sell out run before opening or previews a glorious triumph and one that should return in 2018.
