I am an experienced live performance artist and singer-songwriter. I can perform live with a band, acoustically with a single musician, or with performance tracks (background music). I am also a show producer and have the ability to build an entire concert experience (additional rate/planning required) I am most known for my original music and very often I am booked to do original music with little or no covers (although I can perform covers if preferred) I invite you to experience my performance and songs as you may find it to be very fitting for your event. A sound so melodic, so soulful, so eclectic and full of passion and purpose…a style so powerful it reaches audiences of all kinds....the music stylings of Nialand is just that. Her gift is full of color, truth, soul, experience, and a bit of edge, delivered in a plethora of harmonies and smooth tones that set her apart from many other artists. Influenced by classic Hip Hop, Jazz, and Soul Music, Nialand puts her heart, her story, and her truth in her music to present this cool, unique blend that reaches all who hear it. Nialand conveys that it is not only alright but necessary to live in tru ... th and honesty. In her words, she expresses her personal healing, learning, and vulnerability to encourage others to express and embrace the same.
Nialand cultivated her brand early on, taking on the challenge of being an independent artist long before it was acceptable to do so, Nialand has obtained the tools to fully function not only as an artist, but as a professional. Nialand always makes time to give back with it all, as she uses the skills and tools acquired over the years to consult and mentor up and coming artists and entrepreneurs to help them develop their brand through her company, DreamLoud Creative Group.
Her drive has led to many successes. What was meant to be a single performance turned into a four-year long tour as official vocalist and hype girl to Hip Hop legend, MC Lyte. Early in her career her writing caught the attention of then Chicago producer, now executive VP of Def Jam Records, No ID which led to the release of “Let it Ride”, a single on her debut album “Next in Line: The Project”. She has also went on to work with Chico Debarge, Lupe Fiasco, Rhymefest, Malik Yusef, Kanye West, J. Ivy, Tarrey Torae, Christopher Williams, Elzhi, Roy Ayers and many more. Nialand has performed all over the country in intimate settings as well as arenas of thousands.
She recently added, "international artist" to her resume by completing her first European Tour as a featured artist in the "Moments For Love" Soul Tour in 2016 which received much acclaim and sold out on its first night!
In 2019, Nialand made her directorial debut in the making and release of "Inside Out", a cinematic music short, which is a mini documentary and music video about Nialand's music journey thus far. The visual brings to light the common, yet often unspoken internal struggles that creative individuals face in their pursuit of identity, destiny, and purpose. This deeply personal project has received countless reviews crediting the project for being an inspiring and vulnerable piece of art that can relate to everyone in all phases of life's journeys.
With high hopes to continue to promote the messaging of "Inside Out", Nialand was hopeful to produce and present an array of musical and social projects. And then....2020 happened. During the pandemic, she used her time to truly self reflect and grieve the plans that were set for the year. From there, new music was born. In December 2020, Nialand announced the upcoming project, “Words and Sounds to Quarantine To" an audiovisual EP that reveals and relates to many dialogues that are taking place for musicians and humanity in general. “It's a beautiful, reflective, and honest body of work. I thought Inside Out was my 'vulnerable moment', I had no idea that I would find myself in this place one year later and that I would arrive at the decision to completely open myself in a way that I never have. But I am so grateful to have the ability to share and I hope that changes hearts and perspectives for the better in the midst of it all" -Nialand
