"Laçadores", the latest creation of Cia. Diablos de la Pampa – Milton and Gala, is a fascinating show of rhythm and extraordinary abilities inspired by the gaucho culture of the Brazilian state - Rio Grande do Sul, which shares traditions with Uruguay and Argentina. Transporting us in the Pampas, we get to know the gauchos, these passionate South American cowboys who through their skill with the boleadoras and the lasso tricks, the surprising rhythms with the feet and the drums, the virtuoso twirl with the ponchos in the air lead us to make a unique trip.
First a ... ct: Milton Manica represent an extraordinary number that mixes precision, movement and music - the number of the BOLEADORAS. The Boleadoras are small balls fixed to the end of a rope. In the Pampas of Argentina, South of Brazil and Uruguay ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pampas ) the gauchoes were using them traditionally as weapon to hunt to the cattle. Later they were introduced in the folklore dances of the Gauchoes, as percussion instrument and also they have a visual very strong impact.
Milton dominates the virtuosity and the technicality of the dance of the Gauchoes. His representation is definitively stylized and modern.
Second act: Lasso act:
The cowboy uses the whips to demonstrate his precision. Milton is cutting a newspaper from the hands of his partner Gala, while dancing to the beat of the background music.
Lasso is a cowboy accessory used to hunt animals. In this act the gaucho use various sizes of rope, he tricks the rope, he jumps and makes impressive figures demonstrating its ability and expertise.

Biography

This company was founded in the year 2003, in Catalonia, fruit of the meeting between Milton and Gala. Till then the two had worked separately with other professional companies of dance and circus, until one day they decided to follow his artistic way together and like that it was born Diablos de la Pampa (Devils of the Pampas).
Milton Manica is a gaucho artist of South of Brazil who began his artistic career in 1987 (12 years of age)) when he made début as principal "boleador" of a house of spectacles in Porto Alegre, "Galpao Crioulo" (1987-2000).
In this period he presented and gained t ... he first prize in the International Festival in Johannesburgo, South Africa (1993), he did actions in Florence, Italy (1995), acted two weeks in the Museum of the Louvre of Paris (1998) and was the special guest to 14 diverse programs of Television.
Several newspapers have published articles about he and his art with the dance of the boleadoras.
In the year 2000 motivated for growing and to enlarge his artistic development he came to Europe. Since then and till now (2012) he devotes himself and lives of his own spectacles.

Gala Georgieva is from Bulgaria. She finished the National School of Dance (Sofia) with the qualifications "Artist - ballerina" and " Pedagoga of dance " (1988-1997).
She continued with the studies of " Popular Bulgarian Choreography " in the " Academy of Musical Arts, Dance and plastic Arts " (1997-2001), where in year 1999 she won prize of the foundation " Prof. Ivan Spasov " (Plovdiv) for approving all the examinations (14) with the note Exelente.
In this period she studied Choreographic Composition, History of the Dance, of the Art and of the Theatre, Pedagogic Psychology, Methodology of Education, Mastery of the Actor, Dramaturgy and Musical Aesthetics, Piano, scenic Assembly.
From earlier age (10 years) she knows the scenes of the Theatre of Opera and Ballet (Sofia), National Palace of the Culture and etc., where with The National School of Dance they do school presentations every year.
Gala Georgieva left his native country to look for new horizons and a cultural exchange, so in 2002 she came to Spain.

Milton and Gala, they were known in Tunis (2001) where they worked 9 months for a Spanish company of spectacles. Then with the same company they continued to being employed 11 months at the Canary Isles.
In 2003 they came to Catalonia and decided to create his own company " Devils of the Pampas ". Every year they have prepared a new spectacle, in the year 2003, 2004, 2005 with invited artists.
Milton's knowledge on the culture and the gaucho folklore, and the formation and the knowledge of Gala of dance and creation of a spectacle, has helped them be very much successful.
