I play mostly oldies in the hotel, as most people are familiar with them.
I don't limit myself to just oldies though. I can also play English, Japanese, Chinese pop songs, as well as film’s music, including Disney’s soundtrack.
I play these mostly when there are younger audiences.
I play a mixture of Japanese and Chinese songs as well.
Besides that, I am a classically trained pianist, and I will have no problem playing classical tunes.
I am also expanding my knowledge on jazz, and I am able to play some smooth jazz.
My style of playing is soulful, and decorative. I provide go ... od ambience, and I change my style
according to my audience’s needs, and also the environment.
I am very good in sight reading, as well as playing by ear. I love to improvise too, giving my
playing a fresh twist and yet keeping it original.
I could learn a new song within an hour, so I will have no problem if my manager requests a new
set of songs to be played.
I love what I do, I enjoy it and I will make sure that the people around me would enjoy it as well.

Biography

I started learning the piano when I was 13. In about 5 years, I completed my ABRSM Grade 8 theory and practical, although I stopped my lessons for a year in between. I scored a distinction in my Grade 8 ABRSM.
I've completed my Diploma in Creative Media, which covers the topic of audio engineering, music studies, filming and design in SAE (School of Audio Engineering) Institute Malaysia.
I am familiar with the behind the scenes of musician, and I know the recording industry works.
However, I prefer to stick to playing music as I found out it is truly my passion.
I am capable of speak ... ing English, Chinese, Cantonese, also Malay fluently.
I can speak Japanese, up to an intermediate level.

Experience

I started performing music when I was just 12. In my early years before I took piano lessons, I joined my school choir.
After I've started piano lessons, I joined a rock band as a keyboardist. For 4 years, I stayed in that band and learned about playing with others. My listening skill and improvisation skill improved greatly through this.
After that, I started playing solo piano in hotels. With all I've knowledge gained previously, I learnt to be a solo artist by mixing in different harmonies and creating a suitable background ambience.

I have worked with Impiana KLCC Hotel, The Majestic Hotel, and Seri Pacific Hotel.
All these hotels are based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I am currently in Vietnam, working as a solo pianist in Vinpearl Resort.
