1983: James returns to Vegas after serving his country with serving 4 1/2 years with the U.S. Navy. He auditions for the well known band "Roadhouse" and makes the cut. Roadhouse has had a successful run of 10 years and multiple albums and with James as their last drummer/backup vocalist, the principals retire after 2 years. James was valued as a professional drummer and harmonist and toured with record label artists during the 1980s while based in Los Angeles, CA. and then leaving the music industry in 1990 to raise a family. Although James preferred his instrument as a drummer/percussionist/backup vocalist during the 1980s, he was asked to the front of the stage to perform some lead vocals on various tours from time to time because the bands loved the warm texture of his voice.
James returned to the music industry in 2012 to do some recording for his family, daughters and friends for fun. The results were shocking to everyone except James as all that heard James' voice were in disbelief of the quality of his voice and how you could feel every word as it filled your soul with emotion. James performed for high profile clients such as Frank Sinatra's relatives in Hoboken, NJ in 2012, various theatres and showrooms in Vegas in 2013 & 2014, the US Congress in 2015 and the US Senate in 2016 on Capitol Hill in Washington DC and other high profile clients such as the US Navy and 4 Star Admiral private events and befriending such clients.
The music that surrounded James while growing up as a boy while living in Queens, NY when he was 8 years old until 1968 was great, only to relocate to Las Vegas with his family that year. Growing up in Las Vegas with an Irish/Italian family in the gaming industry from the late 60s was a very unique experience and presented James a glamorous life, great swingin' big band music, heartfelt torch songs and are many stories that James now shares on stage. This is my family and these are real life high-profile stories/events that movies are made of.
2017: James performs in Las Vegas at the Golden Nugget and releases is new CD "Blue Again" only to receive an offer for an international distribution/promotions/recording deal with USA Network/Sony Records to put out his CD with a new title and adding 2 new songs, one of which will be a title song to total 12 songs. James Anthony's re-release of his CD is due late 2017.
