Versatile guitarist equally at home on classical, electric and acoustic. Tom has performed live with Jimmy Page on electric and in a trio with John Williams on classical guitar. Tom appears regularly with the National Theatre, Rambert Dance Company and works as a dep in the West End on School of Rock.
Tom began playing the guitar at the age of 5 and was the first guitarist to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School. He has performed at the Wigmore Hall (where he made his debut aged 15), Cadogan Hall, Purcell Room, Deal Festival and in solo tours of Italy and Japan. Tom has won prizes as a soloist in the Ivor Mairants and Tokyo International Guitar Competitions.
Tom's interest in chamber music leads to numerous collaborations, most notably his guitar duo with Laura Snowden which won the 1st Ligita International Guitar Duo Competition in the summer of 2012 and, in 2014, had the honour of perfo ... rming Frederic Hand's 'Prayer' live with John Williams in a guitar trio arrangement by the composer Richard Harvey. In December 2016, Tom performed the principal guitar part for John Adams' El Niño in the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by the composer in London (Barbican) and Paris (Philharmonie).
Recording credits include an appearance on the London Conchord Ensemble's acclaimed CD of Poulenc's entire chamber works ('A constant joy' - Gramophone) for Champs Hill Records and the first recording of Steve Goss' 'Frozen Music' for guitar & string trio for Cadenza.
Tom has appeared in productions for the National Theatre (London Road, The Silver Tassie, The Travelling Light), English National Opera (Sunset Boulevard), Rambert Dance Company (Ghost Dances, Wild Horses 2016/17 UK Tour), Glyndebourne (Don Pasquale 2017) and Welsh National Opera (Moses und Aaron, Kiss Me Kate 2016 UK Tour). He was the electric guitarist for Donovan's Royal Albert Hall concert in 2011 where he performed the 'Sunshine Superman' album in full alongside Jimmy Page and Danny Thompson (pictured right) with the London Contemporary Orchestra.
Recording credits include work for British Airways, Sky Arts, Tricky (Massive Attack) and Latin Quarter. His work at the National Theatre has seen Tom perform on Mandolin, Banjo, Electric, Acoustic and Classical Guitars.
