Biography

I am a classically trained female vocalist. I am British with Filipino heritage and am currently based in London, U.K. but I will happily travel for the right gig.
I have been taught by Mary Hammond (Professor of Music at The Royal Academy of Music), Sylvia Eaves (Head of classical voice at Trinity) and Mark Meylan (West End and A-list celebrity vocal coach).
I have been performing professionally for over twenty years with experience in several West End musicals such as MISS SAIGON at Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, where I played the role of Yvonne and understudied and played both Gigi and ... the lead role Kim; SOUTH PACIFIC at the Royal National Theatre where I played Ensign Carla Velasquez and also sang in the original cast recording of the show (MD: Steven Brooker) and THE KING AND I where I played a Royal Wife in Jeremy Sam's adaptation at The Royal Albert Hall (MD: Gareth Valentine) etc.
I also have extensive experience singing at a variety of different types of events worldwide including exclusive VIP private events, smaller intimate private parties as well as large corporate shows. These include; a private performance for Her Royal Highness The Queen and various dignitaries and VIP guests for 'A Celebration of Young British Talent in the Performing Arts' at Buckingham Palace, a number of private functions for the Ambassador of the Philippines and the Philippine Embassy in London, 'You'll Never Walk Alone' a star studded show at The Queens Theatre for Stage Acts, 'Angels by Candlelight' for Angelic Creations Productions, various weddings, parties, charity shows such as a charity event for The Wonder Foundation at The Savoy and many more.
My most recent gigs have been as a lead vocalist for the concert A NIGHT AT THE MUSICALS for Follies Fest (July 2018) and a live solo performance of Madonna's 'Like a Prayer' for the GRANGE HILL 40th ANNIVERSARY GALA at the BBC White City in September 2018.
I am also one of the co-creators and a performer of 'That 80s Night' an exhilarating celebration of the timeless and iconic songs, artists and pop culture of the 1980s (That Entertainment Company).
As I am also a professional actress you might recognise me from the various film, TV and commercial projects I have appeared in (for example most recently I played a doctor in ITV's Coronation Street).
I absolutely love to sing and perform. I sing a variety of genres such as musical theatre, classical, pop, jazz and soul. I am flexible and can perform a specific genre, style or set list according to your (the client's) particular requirements to make for a sensational and enjoyable event for you and your guests.

Renee Montemayor is the kind of triple threat performer that for many years we didn’t think we could produce in this country. Actually, she’s more of a quadruple threat in that, as well as being a fine actress, beautiful singer and first class dancer, she’s also sublimely funny. I first saw her as the female lead in the original Drury Lane run of Miss Saigon and was blown away: a performance of outstanding sincerity, strength and intelligent acting choices topped off with heartstoppingly lovely vocals. I couldn’t take my eyes off her except to blink away tears by the end of Kim’s tragic story. Having seen her effortlessly command a 2000+ seat auditorium, I was subsequently so impressed by her ability to change technique completely and produce television performances of entirely credible naturalism.
