Description
Award winning musician Steaphanaidh graduated with a first-class honours degree from the Royal Northern College of Music. Upon graduating she studied the harp in Brest, Brittany for a year. She has also gone on to win the prestigious Gaelic Traditional Singing Gold Medal at the Royal National Mod and was the winner of the 2019 International Pan Celtic Festival traditional harp competition.

Biography
Born and brought up on the Isle of Skye surrounded by Gaelic song, music and culture, Steaphanaidh's music is largely influenced by her Gaelic roots as well as her extensive classical training. This mix of the traditional and the classical has been fused with playing modern, contemporary music giving Steaphanaidh's music a distinctive tone, sound and voice.

... usic she established a flute and harp duo called ‘Duo Reul’ who were finalists in the British Harp Chamber Music Competition in 2015 and also performed in many venues including at the Isle of Skye Festival, Didsbury Coffee Concert Series, and the Didsbury and Chorlton Arts Festivals. She has also been featured playing live on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ playing Jeffery Mumford’s ‘Echoes From Within Brightening Fabric’ for Harp and Vibraphone.
As an orchestral musician she has had the pleasure of performing in some of the country's most notable venues including The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The Usher Hall, The Bridgewater Hall (Manchester) and a personal highlight was performing as the prinicpal harpist of NYOS in the BBC Proms at The Royal Albert Hall.
In 2018 Steaphanaidh won the prestigious Gaelic Traditional Singing Gold Medal at the Royal National Mod. Since then she has gone on to sing at Dover House in London, at Am Bothan in Edinburgh and representing Scotland at the International Pan Celtic Festival in Ireland. She was the winner of the 2019 International Pan Celtic Festival traditional harp competition.
