Description

The best way to describe the services I offer is versatility. Any Celtic, Irish, Scottish and Quebec traditional music or dance is my specialty. I can provide solo guitar-singing as well as duos (often fiddle, guitar, singing, feet percussion), trios, a dance caller to make the audience dance along with the music while someone explains the dance to them, a jig dancer, jig dance full troupe, etc. Please feel free to ask me with any inquiries related to traditional music and we will find something that fits your needs.

Biography

Samuel, a musician from Montreal, Quebec, holds two college degrees in jazz performance and traditional music. He has been playing his instrument, the guitar, with great versatility and virtuosity for over 10 years. Very active on the traditional music scene, he has been involved in multiple European tours and has made a name for himself as a freelance musician, notably playing alongside the legendary group La Bottine Souriante. In recent years, he has also toured in France, the United States, and Australia with Cirque Alfonse. His charisma and stage presence are sure to stand out.

Experience

I am a very well established musician in Quebec. I have almost 10 years of professional experience, despite being only in my mid 20s. I have played alongside the most prestigious Quebecois traditional music band La Bottine Souriante, and I've been touring the world for the past years with a circus called Cirque Alfonse. We have been to France, the USA, Australia, Hungary, Czech Republic, etc. We tour mostly national and local theaters, but also big festivals such as: Sziget Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Letni Letna and many more.

Previous Clients

My previous clients are very different from each other as I do a lot of freelance work as a musician. That being said, my typical clients are usually either companies that hire me for doing corporate events, weddings, funerals, festivals, town/cities, music bands for tours, dance troupes, circus. I have also played on the Princess and the Royal Caribbean cruise ships for single shows many times before when they stop by Quebec City.

Hi! My name is Samuel and I am 26 years. I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and I am a professional musician since almost 10 years. I started playing music because I loved Metal music, but around 16-17 years old, I discovered folk and traditional quebecois music. I fell in love with this last music genre and got fully involved in this community as a musician. I quickly started touring with dance troupes around the world, going on tour for the first time at 19 years old, while still in college.
Besides music, I believe that I am a very nice, open-minded person.
