Biography

Uprooted from the soils of KwaZulu Natal is Senzy Nkosi, a Durban born and based muso who hails from the heart of Ntuzuma. Her musical journey began when she was just only 17 ,joining the church choir which not long after (2 years) grew to her being part of the community musical, Unyazi. A stellar performance on Unyazi gained her recognition from MamTu-Nokwe who asked her to be part of the musical ‘Isihlahla Sobuntu’ where she further more outdid herself and was spotted by Mr Duma kaNdlovu who then asked her to do a jingle for a show called ‘I Once Had It All’ which aired on sabc2. ... As much as she enjoyed the musical theatre life, she did not want to limit herself , as she knew more was in store for her. Taking a leap of faith not only on herself but on her journey as well, she entered the Coca Cola pop stars competition in 2010 and made it all the way to the Top 30. Making it so far in her journey built her confidence which led her to audition for the SABC Crown Gospel Awards choir in which she got in and formed part of their soprano. Being on the Crown Gospel Awards Choir gained her so much recognition and opened new opportunities to her as she then on joined the Ethekwini Gospel Choir as one of their main backing vocalists. The Sky is the Limit to this passionate muso as she auditioned and made it representing Durban on Team Busiswa ,Season 3 of the biggest choir competition in South Africa, Clash Of The Choirs which aired on Mzansi Magic. Not forsaking her Musical Theatre love, she was honoured to be given the leading role on Zanele Mbokazi’s Musical Production, ‘Maria The Musical. Currently Senzie is a performing vocalist for corporate events, restaurants, studio sessions, cover songs, clubs, house parties and many more events maintaing to keep up with the present times through music.

The client was thrilled to a point that they called me back the following Sunday yo perform again on their restaurant. What they loved most was seeing how customers would sing along on most songs I delivered.
