I have many years of experience as a headliner. For over five years I was the front man for a blues band, we wrote, recorded and produced albums, from which we toured and played at many festivals, I’ve played at all the most respected locations in London like Blues Kitchen, Jazz cafe, Spice of life and many more, from which I am most proud we recorded a song from the album "Just Enough for the Real World (JEFTRW), which helped raise money and awareness for human trafficking which for the Helen Bamber Foundation, which had a mention on GMTV. After the band split I moved to Brazil, in Rio is ... where I gained most of my experience as a soloist, playing piano and on vocals. I appeared in many hotels, bars and restaurants playing all the popular hits from all the styles of music from Blues to Jazz to Rock too Funk to Motown to soul to R&B and Pop. I have a huge repertoire and it is more than likely if a client shouts out a song, I will know it, from old music too new, as I follow the music fashions, and follow all the latest artists. I have a band in Brazil and play at many big festival events our name is "Cipo Soul", playing manly covers and a few of our own. I know every chord and every scale that there is from Ancient Greek to modern music and have exhausted many of the theories and philosophies of music. My Name is Chris and was born and raised in Southgate London, throughout my teenage years I attended Boden theatre college for nearly ten years, where by I built a foundation and a passion for singing and performing. At this college participated in both tv and theatre productions (both local & west end), we had classes in vocal technique, ensemble, Dance and acting.
It was a few years later when I really started taking my voice and music more seriously when I started college at the Institute of contemporary music performance. Where I had my first contact with Alexander technique, the Cath ... erine Sadoline vocal technique, Music theory, audio and transcribing, song writing, sight singing, music production, music business, music history and the list goes on. After which I participated in courses, at the same college in both piano and guitar.
After leaving college with honours, I decided to form a Blues Band and for five years we did the London circuit playing in places like Proud Camden, Jazz Cafe, Ronnie Scotts, Jazz After Dark, Spice of Life, Ain't Nothin But the Blues, Blues Kitchen...... We wrote and recorded albums, performed 4 to 5 hour gigs 4 nights a week, played at festivals and from which I am most proud we also earned money and help raise awareness for human trafficking (Helen Bamber Foundation), writing, producing, recording then promoting marketing this album, which ha a mention on GMTV.
Teaching is something that I have done throughout (1 to 1), and still continue to do to date. However I did start teaching in schools children ages 5 - 16 when I moved to Brazil, I started in a bilingual school in Rio, Externato Campista, where I taught the basics of music and vocal technique, wrote and recorded children songs to help them learn English, and put together events like talent shows and presentations.
During my time in Brazil, I participated in The Blues and Jazz Festival Rio Das Oystras, Campos theatre festival, Cabaret’s (drag), and theatre groups as the producer of the sound track, from which I have won awards and accolades, I also owned my own studio “studio Solar”, which involved recorded & producing for many artists, and helping them find their voice (lyrically or musically), also helping them with their brand, marketing and promotion.
When I came back to London I put some old friends back together (old band members and college associates) to produce my album which was recorded at the chocolate factory recording studio with the famous DJ Jason Kaye. I put it on all the online platforms, and worked social medias to promote it, which included not just writing producing and recording but also marketing, promotion, management and a hell of a lot of organisation.
Through all all my studies and experience I have really developed a solid understanding of music, mastering, production and music theory and thus have a great ear for detail! Furthermore my whole life l have been involved in the arts, music, singing, feeling, musicality, rhythm, and am fully prepared, for whether it be in, popular music, tv, radio, advertising or even voice over work. Which brings me to where I am to day, I still have my own studio and help many artist but my main source of income is from voice over work! I am always vibrant and full of energy, hard working and punctual. because of all my rich experiences in life I have a great knowledge of many things, and thus I will be a great asset as part of your team. Hob Salons Baker Street 1998-2010: my first role was as an assistant, then became a stylist, soon after became assistant manager/recepcionist and then became chef educator.
Artist Singer Songwriter 2010 - 2013: My role as an artist involved, writing producing and recording, also marketing promotion and sales. I had a solo act but also was a front man for a blues band, as acting manager it was my job to to the events management and promo, we played at some huge events, festivals and even had a mention on GMTV for writing and recording the album “Just enough for the real wor ... ld”, which was a charity event raising awareness for human trafficking (Helen Bamber foundation).
