A solo acoustic singer/songwriter who plays an energetic set of cover songs. I can also perform my own original songs (I can perform in English or Welsh or a combination of both) depending on the gig or function, happy to adjust depending on what the potential customer requires.

Biography

My name’s Daf Jones and I’m a solo acoustic singer/songwriter. I’ve been gigging as a solo artist for over a decade and absolutely love what I do.
I play a variety of covers from various artists such as Jon Bon Jovi, Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart, Stereophonics, Paolo Nutini and many more!
I also write and perform many original songs at my gigs - both in English and in Welsh - the amounts vary depending on the audience.
I’m ambitious and am hoping to play many more gigs in the future further afield from where I am based in Anglesey, North Wales. The music scene is small in this p ... art of the world and I’d like more people to hear my music.

Meet the Act

I’m a solo acoustic singer songwriter from Anglesey - but about my background, I’ve always been creative and artistic from a very young age.
When I was in school (primary and secondary), I was always singing in either a choir or as a solo singer, which gave me confidence. I started writing poetry and song lyrics from the age of 15 or so, however I was unable to play an instrument, bar a few piano notes.
I purchased my first guitar when I was 18 years of age, however after a few health issues which knocked my confidence and going away to University in Aberystwyth, it was on the back ... burner. I did however form a Welsh-language project with one of my closest friends, and we were fortunate to play alongside some of Wales’s biggest artists at the time which was a privilege.
The project never took off following University as we went our separate ways, however I never stopped and I started picking up the guitar again. I started attending local Open Mic evenings on Bangor & Llandudno for a few years, which led to a few local support slots locally. The support slots eventually became headline slots as my repertoire and confidence grew, and I started organising my own gigs.
By now, I’ve been gigging for over a decade and have had some amazing experiences - including launching two self-written albums, being listed twice for the Welsh Music Prize, co-working with a few famous people, playing at landmark events such as the Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod, Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau, The Anglesey Show and The National Eisteddfod supporting Dafydd Iwan.
It proves that patience, perseverance and a hardworking attitude can work. It has been a lot of work and continues to be but I enjoy it and have a real passion to grow and build on my repertoire and strengthening my reputation. Read More
