I can provide a Freestyle Skateboarding demonstration, which is a versatile and impressive display of technical skateboarding ability. If I was to describe Freestyle Skateboarding, it'd be pretty much a combination of skateboarding, figure skating and breakdancing. Certainly something different and engaging for your audience!
Freestyle Skateboarding can be performed on any good sized area of flat, smooth ground, which is neither excessively grippy or polished.

Biography

I'm Denham Hill, a 30 year old Professional Freestyle Skateboarder from Leeds.
I've spent around 20 years on (and falling off!) a skateboard, starting on the driveway outside the house and progressing to skate in competitions and demonstrations in Canada, Germany, and of course here in the U.K becoming an internationally recognized Freestyler, and bringing my own individual style to the table. Skateboarding didn't come naturally to me, far from it! When I started out, I had no idea where skateboarding would take me, and certainly never thought I'd be any good at it. As is the case for many ... new skaters, I spent more time on the floor than on my board!
When I'm not skateboarding, I'm helping young people start their skateboarding journey. Based at LS-TEN Skatepark in Leeds, I plan and deliver community projects in skateparks across the city, while also delivering coaching sessions to school groups externally and from our own facility.

Meet the Act

I got started pretty much by chance! I'd been skateboarding a while but felt that there were very limited opportunities out there for skateboarders. I received a call from a gent who was involved in the Freestyle Community in the U.K who invited me to a demonstration at NASS Festival and all of a sudden, good things started happening!
From there it was contests, travelling, turning Pro and loving every minute of the journey.
I'm into quite a few other things besides skating. I play multiple musical instruments, collect curiosities, do plenty of artwork and have recently got into photogr ... aphy (though I'm absolutely dreadful at it).
I absolutely love sharks to a point where it borders on obsessive.
My nickname is "Denweasel", which I acquired from friends for various complicated reasons and I like to hope its used affectionately and not in terms of my stature! Read More
