Biography

Diego Avendaño Pereira (Diego Strings) is a singer and guitarist specialized in Bossa Nova and Jazz, with a career in Uruguay, Mexico, the United States and Brazil.
Since 2005, he has been known in Mexico and the US for bringing together the Brazilian music loving community in various stages and concert venues. In 2008 he founded the Grupo Saravá, a well-known precursor of the bossa nova style, with which he made two discography editions under his production. The project was recognized by the Jobim Music Brasil Foundation, the Presidency of Mexico and the Embassy of Brazil in New York.

In 2016, he was invited by the Presidency of Mexico as an outstanding artist in the promotion of Brazilian music for the reception of the President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff at the Palacio Nacional. – https://diegostrings.com/presidente-do-brasil-no-mexico/.
In December 2018, at the Consulate General of Brazil in New York he presented his “Bossa Nova Classics” concert, and also received invitations to repeat the concert at the library “Brazilian Endowment for the Arts” of Manhattan and at the “Paganini Institute” of Newark, New Jersey.
In March 2022 he was invited to participate in the “Rio Santos Bossa Fest”, an annual Brazilian Bossa Nova festival held in the city of Santos (São Paulo, Brazil) with the presence of great figures of the genre.
During 2024 he presented “La musique de bossa nova en français” on the stages of Ponant Luxury Cruise Line. Since 2025 he continues his soloist musical career with residence in São Paulo (Brazil).

• From 2005 to 2022 I have been working as a singer guitarist soloist in Mexico, the United States and Brazil, giving concerts in various cities, participating in several corporate events and hotels gigs, and performing several Youtube live streams through my "Lives do Diego" audition.
• In 2023 he started working on cruise ships for the Poseidon Expeditions company.
• In 2024 he embarked with with the Ponant Luxury Cruise Line company.
• In 2025 he embarked with with MSC Company (current, until April 2026).

A concert to enjoy the greatest hits of Bossa Nova, marked by the beauty of their harmonies and immortalized by Tom Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, João Gilberto, Astrud Gilberto, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd, among others.

The musical genre of Brazilian origin was born in the late 1950s, promoted by a group of students and musicians from the Ipanema and Copacabana neighborhoods of the city of Rio de Janeiro.


REGIONAL RHYTHMS OF BRAZIL

A journey through Brazilian music through notable works by the great masters of all time, recognized for their musical richness.

The styles of Choro, Baião, Afoxé, Carnival Marchinha, Xote, Maracatú, Samba de roda and Bossa nova will be present in this concert, revealing the soul and essence of a unique culture.


THE MUSIC OF BOSSA NOVA IN FRANÇAIS

A themed concert that blends the elegance of Bossa nova with the beauty of the French language, inspired by the music of the French who participated in the genre in the 1950s and 1960s.

There will be tributes to the great French singers participating in the genre such as Henri Salvador, Yves Duteil, Pierre Barouh, Georges Moustaki, Sasha Distel and Brigitte Bardot among others.
