We reimagine modern songs from Taylor Swift to Bieber, Pink, Lady Gaga and more into a jazz style from the 1920s through to the 1940s, 1950s doo wop and Motown from the 1960s. We play the music of Postmodern Jukebox and Scary Pockets along with our own versions of modern songs. Great music to dance to at functions, corporate events and parties. We are keen to travel to support your next event.

Biography

Groove Resolution reimagine your favourite contemporary songs from your favourite artists into a style of years gone by. How would have Lady Gaga or Pink have sounded if they were around in the 1930s or 1950s? We cover your fave’s in a jazz style from the 1920s, 30s and 40s to 1950s doo wop and Motown of the 60s. There’s something for everyone. Even though the style will be different, you’ll still know the songs! We perform our own versions of songs and also perform the versions created by Postmodern Jukebox and Scary Pockets. We can’t wait to entertain at your next function and party.

Experience

Groove Resolution members are all seasoned professionals. Several members are full time musicians in the Australian Army Band. We have band members that have musical theatre experience, others with years experience performing in big bands and other groups. All seasoned performers.

Meet the Act

Brett Spokes, band leader studied music at the University of Melbourne and has extensive experience in leading bands. Whether it be as musical director for musical theatre performances or as leader of big bands and small ensembles, he brings people that are like minded together to bring to life a vision. He was previously a full time musician in the Army Band. Other band members are currently full time musicians in the Australian Army Band while other band members have extensive experience across various genres of music.
