Description

We are Kadak Chai, a Bollywood band based out of Boston, MA. Kadak Chai plays Hindi, Tamil, Punjabi, Urdu, and English hits from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's to today, all with a rock twist to ensure maximum dhoom and masti! Our music features a mix of guitar, percussion, rhythms, and layered vocals. Perfect to dance and groove to any place and any time!
Kadak Chai was formed during the pandemic in Ajay's basement. Our practice sessions always start with a dose of strong chai each session (hence, our name!). Kadak Chai is currently made of five members - Ajay on lead guitar, Jay on bass guita ... r and vocals, Rajaram on percussion and the husband-wife team of Praveen and Sudha on vocals.

Experience

Through our music, we bring happiness and dance in people's lives. We have played at a number of house parties (New Year's, Valentine's etc.), Group events, Block parties, Festivals like Holi, Diwali and other special occasions. We think our music transcends borders and boundaries, and enjoyed by all. Our music is attuned to the occasion - so for Holi events we perform Holi related songs from our repertoire (e.g. Rang Barse, Balam Pichkari), for Valentine's we have performed love songs (e.g. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Neele Neele Ambar Par), for Eid (e.g. Duma Dum Mast Kalandar, Chaiyya Chaiyya) and ... others.
