It's always a bit of a risk booking a DJ you've not actually seen in person. It is a decent amount of money to spend and - as this was a very special friend’s 50th - there was a lot of expectation riding on the success of the music. We had the event in Bristol and, it being Glastonbury weekend, booking a local DJ was impossible. On top of this we are a pretty specific (fussy) group. Having grown up in the late 80s/90s rave scene and having a love of deep house and techno. It was not looking promising. Spotify playlists were being prepared. When we found LKE, he immediately sent messages with some mixes and shared his Soundcloud. It was exactly what we were looking for, but he was in Leicester. We felt nervous – with a distance like this, there was potential for things to go wrong. But from the start to finish, LKE provided us with reassurance and was committed to understanding our favourite tracks before mixing them into a spectacular three-hour set.
