Biography

Lydia Rae was classically trained for 10 years, then branched into Jazz whilst at university, creating their own jazz album and fronting 7 Big Bands and Function Bands in the UK. Also an avid musician, they play piano, saxophone, drums and clarinet. They featured as a Lead Vocalist on the Anna Lamplough Gospel Explosion Album released in 2022 and has recorded demos for Musical Theatre Composers in the UK that have been sent all over the world. They have recently completed a Master's in Musical Theatre at the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where they were selected as a Voc ... al Captain for the Premier of a new musical by David Merriman. Their favourite band is Earth Wind and Fire :)

I recently asked Lydia to come and sing with my big band comprising of some of the top professional musicians from the Manchester area.I asked her to learn four songs before rehearsal ready for the gig.She came to rehearsal fully prepared and breezed through the four songs with complete professionalism and impressed greatly a band of hard to impress musicians. The gig came along and she nailed it receiving rapturous applause from the audience and the band.A lovely voice comfortable with all types of music.A professional attitude to her work and not only that a lovely young lady to. I would highly recommend her to anybody looking for a very talented singer.She,ll certainly be singing with us again as soon as we do our next gig. Lydia performed at our venue and went down a storm. 1st on the list for easy listening music. No better way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon listening to the restful songs performed by Lydia. This is the second time she has performed for us and will not be the last. An asset for any easy listening music venue.

Lydia has a beautiful voice. I was completely blown away the first time I heard her sing! She often performs at "All About Eve" bar in Camden and for me it's always the highlight of the evening!! One of the best singers I've ever heard!

Experience

I have fronted numerous Big Bands all over England for the last 4 years!
I am a classically trained singer (Grade 8 ABRSM distinction), with a Diploma in Musical Theatre (DipLCM 96/100) and have performed over 40 function sets in a Big Band and over 20 Jazz gigs in the North East.
Masters in Musical Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Previous Clients

I have many regular clients who invite me back to perform at Summer events, coffee mornings, Christmas Work Do's and Bar Live Music nights.
I record songs for composer/producers who need Demos or Voices for their work. This ranges from new Musical Theatre Writing to improvising over bars.
