Biography

Julia started performing at the age of four and never looked back — training as an actor before finding her true calling in music. She now performs full-time with line-ups from trio to full five-piece band, with credits including a West End residency, Brasserie Zédel, a sold-out Crazy Coqs, the Liverpool Philharmonic, the Roundhouse, and festivals including Twinwood, Bunkfest, and Swanage Jazz.

Experience

I have performed in a variety of venues with line-ups ranging from trio to full five-piece band, including a residency in the West End, a trio and quartet residency at Brasserie Zédel, and a sold-out performance at Crazy Coqs. With the full band, I have appeared at the Liverpool Philharmonic, the Roundhouse, Twinwood Festival, the Blues in the Garden Festival in Romania, Bunkfest, Swanage Jazz Festival, Upton Jazz Festival, and Boisdale's, among numerous other theatres and festivals across the country.

Acting Experience

I have a BA Hons 2:1 in Community Theatre 2006 and have performed in theatre over the years including South Hill Park and South Street in Reading. Although I don't perform in plays much anymore my stage act is a performance in itself.

Meet the Act

I started performing at the age of four, and singing and drama quickly became a lifelong love. Along the way, I was told that performing wasn't a "proper job" and that I should look into office work instead. I took that advice for a while, working in various office roles including accounts and sales, before finally biting the bullet and following my heart — completing my acting degree in 2006. These days, I perform full-time, though I don't act as much anymore, and I occasionally teach drama as a supply teacher.
