*I play classic covers in the genres of folk, rock, pop, country, gospel, a little reggae flavour, a little disco, trad Irish set, contemporary Irish set, kids songs set (original), church service songs including weddings/funerals -mainstream contemporary Church music & hymns.
*My strengths are as a fully trained pianist/keyboardist and I have captivating and enduring vocals usually singing up to 4 hrs per day on tour (6 months on and off full time touring presently) and 1 off gig days, or rehearse up to 6 hours per day.
*My unique vocal sound contains deep female tones, gutsy high energy ... renditions to tender engaging and mellow ballads in addition to a soaring range with harmonies on the fly or with a separate harmoniser (model: Harmony Singer2)
*I have a tenor to alto vocal range and sing encouraging and life changing covers and originals in many jails!
*I bring this vast experience of live music playing as over the last 10 years of extensive solo touring and regular gigging with my live looping show (with a Boss RC300 Loop Station Flagship model) vocals, keys, acoustic guitar, bass and electric ukulele.
*I bring a travel set up and bring the full gear and sound system with me wherever I travel. It is self-operated at the keyboard, and does not require a dedicated sound engineer. I always adjust volume to the requirements of the venue / management / clientele. A sound person is a bonus. I have a full duplicate set up at home to rehearse.
*My live music is particularly suitable for bars plus other events indicated in suitability category. I have played at most of these or could play at these events with current skill set / song lists. People in the 40-80 years age group relate to my music the most.
* My life experience includes mental health nursing for 12 years until 2021 plus using music as a therapeutic tool to engage meaningfully with patients, clients, and their families. I perform to people from all walks of life including over 450 prison shows behind bars plus in mental health units, drug rehabs, and volatile situations and I remain calm and become a settling influence when people behave outside of normal parameters.

1971 New Zealand born citizen Nicole Moran. Stage name Nicky Moran.
1983-1995 Classical piano lessons with up to 3 private tutors concurrently.
1985-1987 Alto/ female tenor vocalist in school choirs
1991 ATCL diploma majoring in piano teaching (equivalent to 1st year bachelor)
1995 LTCL diploma majoring in piano teaching (equivalent to undergrad degree)
1988-2002 Regular backing vocalist/keys in church band, part time piano tutor
2003-2014 Regular church band leader on lead vocalist and keys
1992-2005 Wedding/funeral pianist/singer. Learnt acoustic guitar.
1994-2005 Background pia ... nist in pubs, bars, racecourse meets, private functions, receptions, cruise ship after hours.
1996-1997 4.5 months photographer on Cunard ship, moonlighting as pianist.

I always wanted to sing and play instruments. Learnt piano for 12 years as a child, ending up studying music privately with 3 tutors while working a day job and teaching up to 10 students. I have used music therapeutically with patients when involved in Mental health units as a nurse. Then I developed a taste for using music to lift peoples spirits, inspire them, encourage and heal the broken heart. Wrote songs and recorded on a tape recorder as a child, now record in my own home studio with private record producer. 10 gospel flavoured albums released since 2008, 2 new ones waiting to be made ... - mostly written. I love making and playing music more than any other thing on earth. I write prolifically and tour relentlessly. Passionate, heartfelt, fun, from quiet reflective easy listening chilled out music to reggae, disco, rock and pop. In the last decade I have mostly played alone as few band members can keep up my pace however I love playing in bands, leading bands vocally and on keys. I learnt competent basic acoustic guitar along the way and then ukulele, electric bass later on and drums as a fun sideline but I dont have so much time for that. I would love to learn the electric guitar next as time allows.
Mostly I plays Keys and bass or Keys and acoustic guitar with beats from my looper and live loop known classic covers to bring a fuller sound than a duo and interesting renditions of known songs plus some backing tracks and acoustic versions of my own original songs.
As a Registered Nurse in New Zealand graduating in 2004 I worked in this capacity part time 2-3 days per week until 2021.
From 2009 I worked for 12 years as a mental health nurse gaining experience in multiple challenging units with people in Intensive mental care ICU and criminally charged volatile patients and during this time used music therapeutically to sing to and with our patients to bring calm and equilibrium and raise morale. My employers endorsed this at each personnel review.
I believe I have a level head and in difficult situations with unexpected behaviours I can help de-escalate people and be beneficial to my employer and our clients in a cruise situation or on shore leave.
One time around 2019 on a NZ large ferry passenger and vehicle ship on a musical tour... a passenger went on a rampage hurting people and approaching women for 'favours' and the staff found me and asked me to intervene with success. I spent time in the staff mess hall with the individual who was experiencing psychosis to keep them calm and was able to obtain good information to share with police while the ship docked and the passengers all disembarked quickly and safely off the ship and they could hand over to the police and mental health crisis team. I was the last passenger to leave the ship at their request.

*My Police records are clear. I have completed annual police checks in New Zealand (last in 2023) for the purpose of clearance to enter all the prisons for performing nationwide music concerts to prisoners and staff. I work with discretion and confidentiality.
