Biography

Nikki Nouveau is an imaginative and passionate performing artist with a love of characterisation and storytelling. Her many years of performance incorporates jazz, classical and musical theatre vocal technique drawing upon her training at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA), Australian Musical Theatre Academy and MASQUE National Institute of Performing Arts.
Nikki has toured internationally with her own productions performing to sell-out audiences and rave reviews in New York City, Edinburgh, Berlin and throughout Australia.
Her eagerly anticipated brand new show 'London by Nig ... ht: The Songs of Julie London' will make its debut this year and is set to tour Australia in 2023 and 2024. With her delicate vocals and classical overtones Nikki transports her listeners to a bygone era of Paris on a beautiful musical journey of the 1940s, 50s and 60s singing French chanson and other classics by Edith Piaf, Josephine Baker, Brigitte Bardot along with original compositions.
Her hit show No Regrets: The Edith Piaf Story continues to draw great acclaim performing to captivated audiences. Accompanied by accordion and piano, Nikki weaves French and English narration in between the timeless beauty and emotion of Piaf’s songs.
2019 saw Nikki tour with renowned magicians Madotti & Vegas in a new Australian theatrical production Lost In Venice and popular long-running cabaret-circus spectacular The Paris Underground.
Nikki made her debut at the 2018 Melbourne Cabaret Festival with her one woman production Kabaret Dietrich, an embodiment of the immortal memory of Marlene Dietrich. The timeless production features classics Boys In The Backroom, Illusions and Falling In Love Again sung in German with Nikki playing the musical saw. Theatre People described her as “the epitome of class and reinvention” in a 5-star review.
Bordello Blues created by Nouveau enjoyed a sell-out season at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, along with her debut cabaret Burlesque Assassin which enthralled audiences at Adelaide and Sydney Fringe Festivals leading to a nomination by The Sydney Morning Herald for ‘Most Thrilling Theatrical Event’.
She recently released her debut album No Regrets (Love and Piaf) following her EP Bordello Blues showcasing cabaret hits and original music in French and English.
