Shahen Thilakaratne is an international pianist, music producer, music teacher, and entrepreneur who launched Pianoforte Institute in 2018. With an extensive range of experience, Shahen brings his love and passion for music into his own unique arrangements of popular hits, proven to keep any listener hanging on the tip of his fingers. His dream of utilizing his talent expertise to part his knowledge and techniques to groom aspiring musicians in Sri Lanka was what inspired her to be a piano teacher and launch Pianoforte Institute.

Pianoforte Institute primarily offers Piano lessons and vocal training for aspiring musicians of all ages. The Institute focuses on all aspects of Performance such as Piano technique, Intonation, vocal projection, vocal range, pitching as well as breathing techniques, and stage performing.

The school offers students both individual or group lessons in all styles of piano playing from the foundation of music theory, aural skills, and building stage confidence. The school emphasizes collaborative performance by providing students with many opportunities to participate in bands and various other ensembles. Group classes are organized in small batches to ensure greater interactivity and individual attention.

Conveniently located in Moratuwa, Pianoforte is a modern academy that is characterized by its friendly ambiance that complements student's coaching sessions to be enjoyable. Pianoforte is equipped with practicing rooms, including studio facilities for professional recording sessions with free Wi-Fi. All our piano training sessions are offered personally by Shahen Thilakaratne.
