Description

The Pop Pickers are an established mature band, based on the south coast of England. We have played over 450 gigs too date covering everything from weddings, hotels, clubs, pubs, birthday/anniversary parties, armed services and corporate events. We play the classic hits from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. The emphasis is on dancing and sing-a-long tunes that everybody knows and can enjoy. We predominately cover the south coast of England but would consider other locations as appropriate.

Biography

The Pop Pickers band was formed in late 2015 and commenced gigs in early 2016. The band has always remained a four piece although occasionally band members have changed. The band have now performed over 450 gigs and continue to keep busy with gigs often booked eighteen months in advance. The currently line up consists of three vocalists with an instrumentation line up of guitar, keyboards, bass and drums.

Experience

The Pop Pickers are a mature band and have played in excess of 450 gigs since 2016. It would have been considerably more but the 15 month Covid shutdown resulted in around one hundred gigs being lost. Our experience includes weddings, birthday/anniversary/retirement parties, club events, armed services events and corporate work. We have even played a couple of life commemoration events where a deceased person has requested us to play for the family and friends as their remembrance event.

Meet the Act

The Pop Pickers band consist of four experienced musicians and vocalists.
Ian Templeton - Guitar and vocal
Marlow Gillam - Guitar, Keyboard and vocals
Graham Day - Bass guitar and vocals
Robbie Clarke - Drums
It all started with an advert by Ian who was frustrated not being able to find a suitable band to play in so decided to form his own band. Graham applied first and Ian and Graham are the founder members. Some line up changes have occurred over the years. Robbie joined in 2017 and Marlow joined in 2023.
