Biography
William Curran is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He has participated in multiple masterclasses, including with Yehuda Gilad and a public evening masterclass with the Berlin Philharmonic Wind Quintet at the RNCM.
A recipient of numerous awards, William currently holds a Creative Practitioner Bursary from Belfast City Council, and previously was the winner of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s prestigious Young Musicians Platform Award.

... , chamber, and solo performance. He has performed across the UK and Europe in venues including the Wigmore Hall (London), Slovak Radio Hall (Bratislava), and closer to home in the Ulster Hall (Belfast).
As a guest player, William has worked with ensembles including the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra and Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble, with whom he has toured to Germany and China.
Solo highlights include engagements with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra for BBC Radio, the Ulster Youth Orchestra as part of their 25th Anniversary Tour, and as a featured artist on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’. William was invited as a headline artist to perform at the 2024 International Clarinet Association's ‘ClarinetFest’.
William is an active chamber musician. Some highlights include being an invited artist at the Clandeboye Festival, curated by Barry Douglas, and performing chamber music with the Ulster Orchestra as part of their ‘On Your Doorstep’ concert series.
As an educator he has taught at several of Northern Ireland’s leading Grammar Schools, as well as for the Leaning & Outreach department of the Ulster Orchestra.
